I do not need more stress in my life. #F1 is supposed to be my escapism.

I didn't like the #Bearman crash.

I'm not too bothered by superclipping.

Or that the drivers need to relearn how to overtake in terms of working out how to game the new cars' boost systems or whatever.

But I'm not watching #F1 for erratic crashes and the possibility that someone might die.

So I made #lamingtons for the #f1 #AustralianGP.

I'd have posted that earlier but then the Australian driver whose grandma supplies the team with her much superior version crashed on the way to the grid.

I'm sure the coloured coconut is an outrage, but...

Plus! It's all so interesting the drivers in the cool down room can't resist having a real and possibly a little bit indiscreet conversation about it all!

But also, it's an engineering championship. And all cars are inherently unnatural. There's no right set of parameters. There are just parameters. I'm really enjoying the different solutions.

And how the drivers cope with them.

About the new regs.

In F1 or any motorsport, the car and how it works is the game. Getting on top of that is part of the game. As they are! It shows how the drivers matter.

So I won't mind if Russell wins the championship, but thankfully it looks like Mercedes won't have it all their own way.

Ok, so I am outing myself as a full blown Ferrari fan this year, and I don't know why because clearly this is going to be bad for my blood pressure.

Well, at least Ferrari strategy hasn't changed.

Anyway. More importantly, I get to stop cooking for #F1 and start thinking about the festive season.

But as a last hurrah, I give you a shawarma, made with falafel (I like falafel) and mint infused salad.

Not a huge Norris fan, but he had to drag himself back in it this year and earn it today.

Congratulations!

Ha. Yes.

This level of tension is not why I watch #F1 to be honest. #AbuDhabiGP

And in episode 342 of 'I don't know why everyone thinks Leclerc is nice', I bet he would very much not mind spoiling someone else's chance of being WDC when he hasn't a hope of it.

Oh, yes, apples. I think I tend towards apples in the pudding (over carrots) rather than mincemeat, but I am open to apples.

Of course my Mum also put gravy browning in the pudding, being old enough to have grown up when that was a post war necessity. It's funny what sticks.

No butter. Must be suet.

Don't get all those recipes pimping store bought - do or not, there is no try.

I'm very flexible on fruit though, but I recommend some sour cherries in there somewhere.

Thought parc ferme is over after the sprint tho, and by that point they do have a lot more data to tweak. Plus damaged parts can be replaced.

But I'm no engineer and I'm thousands of miles away, so I'm hardly going to argue about it.

I prefer this conspiracy theory to the Antonelli one :-)

Acting on it to abuse a driver, or anyone, is just idiocy though.

Good grief.

I blame the #f1 movie for all this jumping at shadows. Or possibly Massa and his court case.

People should get back to old school conspiracy theories about the ways the teams are messing with the technical regulations.

This is why I don't like these close championships though.

This drama and uncertainty is not why I watch #f1!!!

4 months ago 0 0 1 0

Anyway.

It's one thing to get momentarily caught out, and quite another to insist on taking it seriously.

4 months ago 0 0 1 0

All of the above, probably.

But despite the fact it's not the first tongue in cheek remark we've heard, when GP first mentioned the Antonelli mistake, even the commentators gave it some consideration.

Because, as with social media, there are some contexts where joking takes people by surprise.

Communication is hard.

GP and Max clearly sometimes use radio messages for a bit of gossip about the race and other drivers.

I don't know whether this is designed to wind the other drivers up, or calm each other down, or just for the pure enjoyment of talking about racing. Like us, skeeting! #f1

Actually scratch that. She goes on the podium to collect a trophy for her contribution to the team once, and there's a wall of commentary about how this is mainly about trolling McLaren.

Not surprised she keeps her head down, mainly. #f1

Well, I assume they made good use of the break in parc ferme after the sprint to ponder the data and listen to driver feedback.

It's not a one off, though, is my point. They always do it.

And while I sympathise with the Red Bull car 2 horror, currently not giving a fig for it is the right choice
