Picked up a @grindrod.bsky.social‘s brilliant Tales of the Suburbs at East Bristol Books and reading it on my train home to kind-of-but-not-really suburban Frome. Excited that I have a walk on part in Seena’s chapter (Love and Hate in Surbiton). Thrilled to discover I was apparently arty-seeming 🎨

Video

Sometimes it's hard to take in the sheer scale of the destruction in Gaza. This video, which was shot by a pal of my friend Waseem and shows his son Nabil walking to school, really puts it in perspective. If you can help, their link is gofund.me/35fdca7d 🍉

Doncaster: Town End 1850.

If our maps, especially our *new* maps like this, can show you one thing it’s that everywhere and everyone has a story to tell, if you give the time to find it.
Even this outer edge of #Doncaster 176 years ago has a rich and fascinating past (check out our samples!).

Today we've visited this house in Harborne, Birmingham. The architect Henry Tudor Buckland built it for himself & his family. One of his commissions was The Royal Hospital School. #Architecture #Houses #Schools #ArtsandCrafts

Not to be seen on the BBC TV News, doesn’t suit their agenda .

Also not to be seen in the Telegraph, Express, Mail, Sun, etc.

And nowadays not in the Guardian either.

'Richard Tice’s girlfriend is very annoyed that the free press she champions, despite having emigrated to a dictatorship without one, is investigating her boyfriend for stuff she says people who aren’t her boyfriend, like Angela Rayner, should resign over.'

You couldn’t make it up. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Delabole Slate Circle, by Richard Long #TateModern
2 metres in diameter & 168 pieces of slate from the Delabole quarry in Cornwall. Long specified a few rules on how it should be put together. All pieces of stone must touch so that they can be locked together and stable, in a circle.
