Juneau officials say new flood-control barriers are holding, making for far less damage than during last year’s destructive glacial outburst from Suicide Basin.
There are a tremendous number of icebergs in Tracy Arm following the landslide-triggered tsunami. The reason for this is that ~300 meters of the north side of South Sawyer Glacier broke off and disintegrated into many many smaller icebergs as seen in @planet.com imagery 🧪⚒️

First cloud-free optical satellite imagery from @planet.com show the destruction of Dharali village in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, India. Unfortunately the source area in the mountains is still obscured by cloud and so the ultimate cause is still speculative. 🧪⚒️
