Oh, I knew rankle is a word (my mother was especially fond of it), but I didn’t think rankling was!
Glad it resonated. It’s all rankling. . . (I didn’t know that was even a word)
Thanks for sharing!
Maybe… 🤔
🤣🤣🤣
I got home early from a poetry reading and when I walked in the door, my surprised husband said “Dang, I just finished a sandwich that I ordered out. I would’ve got you something.” I said that’s OK. You know what he did? He went out and got me a turtle sundae from Dairy Queen.
With both of us having ADD, honestly, it's a household controlled by chaos.
Things people say to writers. Episode one.

I found scissors in the refrigerator this morning.
Oddly enough my husband came down for breakfast & said he found scissors in the bed when he made it.
Okay, yes, I cut tags off a new shirt & left them on the duvet. Luckily I used kiddie scissors.
I know nothing about the refrigerator though
Always. At least it looks that way to us humans!! He’s probably wondering how long he has to pose for mama… which is precisely how long it takes me to get his ears to perk forward. I think he knows this.
I think he’s checking whether another dog peed there lol

Then everyone gets a raise!!

The struggle is getting real. Do you think businesses will return to work-from-home when their employees can’t afford the gas to drive to work?

Dawn Leavitt reviewed my poetry chapbook, SLEEPWALKER, about the loss of my son, for National Poetry Month. I had to just sit with it for a while this morning.
To have these poems read with such care and understanding means more than I can say.

Yesterday at Tai Chi I met a woman with Shrinky Dink bird earrings and I want to be her friend.
McCall’s costume pattern showing a Jesus-like figure with a white and red robe, and other religious figures
If you’d like to make your own “doctor” costume, here’s a pattern for you.
Bonus: it might also work for a Christmas nativity or Easter pageant.

It truly is interesting. My daughter watches intense thrillers. I need humor and lightness, with a little weirdness tossed in for fun, like Sky Daddy by Kate Folk, or Margo's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe.
Any fans of hockey romance books? I’m tempted to get one just to escape the world for a while. I know someone who reads thrillers or horror when the real world is pressing in on her. What do you read to escape? #booksky
Meet Serenity from Love and Other Incurable Ailments: a grid of images that show she's passionate about cats, loves the colors of a sea landscape, relates to a tarsier-- a nocturnal bug-eyed mammal, collects candles, wears overalls, listens to punk rock such as Siouxsie & the Banshees, drinks coffee smoothies, and often feels like a tornado.
Anything but serene, Serenity begins every chapter with a log entry estimating her “chances of survival” as she searches for love, for herself. Life doesn't always go as planned.

Being generous isn’t difficult; when someone isn’t reveals everything about them. In a world full of rejections and near-misses, celebrating someone else’s win is a small act with big impact. Saying Congratulations goes a long way.
