My weekend is fully booked up!
Thank you, HarperFiction, for an ARC of Karin Slaughter's new book. This is the first in a new series by her. I've always loved Karin's work, so I'm beyond excited for this to take over my whole weekend π

Iβm saying this in my capacity as an author and once and future library worker:
Read whatever the hell you want.
I cannot impress enough on you that the βimportantβ books arenβt important if you donβt jive with them. The popular books, the canon, the whatever. Read what you want.
I stopped caring and decided to start reinventing myself this year π₯Ή
I read Parable of the Sower and Kindred. Her writing is like no other. I need to read Parablr of the Talents, but I'm scared π
Why is starting an assignment so difficult? I always struggle with the first sentence π© #study #assignment #essay #assignmentwork #university #EnglishLiterature #degree
None of us do, have fun with it! πβ€οΈ
Yes, 100%, they read so differently to that first instalment.
Love that! I'll have to pick it up soon π
I loved Jade City but didn't enjoy the other two, I am wanting to back to the triliogy in the future, though, as I think (and hope) that could change π
I've heard great things about Legendborn! β€οΈ
100% , I'm not sure the longest book I got into but 11/22/63 comes to mind. That's a big book and I loved it so much!
I tried it, but I couldn't get into the writing, unfortunately! I love dark academia, too, so it was a shame π

Now I'm scared again! π€£ Maybe it's not the best big book to start doing this with π
Okay, this is a genius idea, and I might take it upon myself to do the same. I've been wanting to read The Count of Monte Cristo for so long now π
You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.
Cancelled about 90% of my movie / TV and book subscriptions today. They all came to around Β£200 a month. I know I don't watch / read enough to warrant that amount of payment every month, but I got sucked into all these monthly plans. A big reason as to why I'm going back to physical formats only.
The movie poster for Poor Things. It features Emma Stone as Bella Baxter. The background is a pastel pink and blue; mostly blue. She wears a blue dress with large balloon like sleeves. From the centre of the image and the centre of her shows what looks like a rolled out white carpet coming from an open mouth, on the carper stands five characters from the film. Three on the right, two on the left. The title of the film 'Poor Things' is written in large thin black font at the top left of the poster.
I finally watched Poor Things last night, and what a wonderfully weird journey it was.
It was beautiful both in cinematics and in story. Emma Stone's acting was incredible, alongside Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo.

Oh, I never noticed that! Thank you so much π
I do now, thank you! π
This is a beautiful collection! I've just cancelled all of my movie / tv subscriptions to start buying them in physical formats again, I'm excited to start growing my own collection π€
Thank you! π
Science Fiction area in a bookstore. The bookshelves are a gorgeous brown wood, and they are neatly packed with Science Fiction books.
Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm new to bluesky, and I'll mainly post about books. I'm an English Literature student who has always loved reading. I'm also a gamer, I enjoy watching films and tv and yapping about everything. I'm here hoping to make friends with similar interests π§‘

I had a great time reading it!
I finished We Used To Live Here by Marcus Kliewer recently, and I loved it. It was one of the best horrors I've read in a long time. #weusedtolivehere #marcuskliewer #booksky #bluesky π
