A strip club. A luxury spa. A private jet.
This isn't a bachelor party — it's Doug Ford's Ontario.

Bold and unapologetic socialist Colombian President Gustavo Petro and his Pacto Histórico have led the country into a better future by saying no to imperialist foreign policy and fossil fuel expansion, and are leading the country through an economic emergency.

We also need to look at what's going on in Latin America. While some countries like Argentina & Chile have opted to elect the right and far-right, others like Brazil, Colombia, & Mexico must be an inspiration for the global left.
In the Netherlands, the GroenLinks–PvdA alliance is rising by proposing bold solutions to address the cost-of-living and climate crises, after the Dutch chose to ditch a coalition government of right-wing and far-right parties and instead elected a centre-right coalition.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon addresses a crowd in Lille.
Leftist forces in France have made gains in recent local elections. Jean-Luc Mélenchon's La France Insoumise is showing growing momentum ahead of next year's presidential elections.
The battle with the far-right will be difficult, but if they lock in, they can win.

In Baden-Württemberg, 90/Die Grünen managed to pull off an upset, forming a coalition government with the CDU. Voters in the auto industry state rejected the far-right AfD's anti-immigrant message of hate, electing Germany's first-ever Premier from its notable Turkish community.

In Canada, @avilewis.ca is leading the left's journey to pick up the pieces left by Mark Carney's rightward lurching Liberals.
Canadians elected them to stop Trumpian conservative populism from creeping into Canada, but Carney has embraced many of the same tactics and policies; the NDP is needed.
Green Party of England & Wales leader Zack Polanski speaking at a podium that reads "Bold Politics"
In the UK, @zackpolanski.bsky.social's Greens have shown that left-populism is the right way to ward off the populist far-right force of Farage's Reform UK, uniting supporters of Keir Starmer's faltering right-wing "Labour" Party, those from other parties, and those who were abandoned by the system.
A few months ago in Portugal, centre-left Partido Socialista candidate António José Seguro beat fascist Chega candidate Andre Ventura in a runoff to become Portugal's President, leaving the position in the hands of someone who will respect the constitution.

This isn't just happening in Hungary.
For the past year or so, the far-right has been losing elections to the centre, and in some cases, the left.
Newly elected Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar holds up a Hungarian flag at a rally
The far-right is declining in Europe. Today, Victor Orban's 16-year rule in Hungary came to an end, with the centre-right Peter Magyar winning.
Today is a day for celebration, but the left can't sleep, we need be be ready to fight tooth and nail when the centrists inevitibly fail.
Doug Ford is obsessed with Toronto , but he keeps forgetting he’s Premier of the entire province.
While he’s busy drawing up plans for a fantasy island, a new convention centre, and even adding jets, people in Northern Ontario are just asking for one thing: fix a single highway. (1/2)
Drop the names of any Canadian companies you’ve seen working with ICE in the comments.
I’m aware of Gardaworld, Roshel, Hootsuite.
Would love to gather any and all other names.
This is what happens when you underfund special education. Thousands of kids with special needs are being excluded from school because Doug Ford won't invest in the supports they need. (3/4)

Haven't posted on here in a while how are all Alberta folks doing currently?
I'm on the phones and doors when I can! Always in support of a good candidate!
IE; They need to take massive actions to reform our economy for everyone, tax the richest among us and bring industry back to Canada.(Yes it can be done with high taxes on wealthy, look at 1940s and 50s) This duopoly of Canadian politics is precisely what put us into this bad position.
But it's the same reason I find the whole Federal/provincial NDP discussion in Alberta stupid, it gives into the conservatives narrative, and most studies have shown that strategic voting also helps conservative causes for sure. That is to say, the liberals are responsible for their own popularity.
