The Point Live: Business and gas companies have their say on gas tax proposals. Representatives from the Business Council, Shell and ConocoPhillips are among those fronting the gas tax senate inquiry today, while the health minister lays out proposed changes to the NDIS.

ATO asked to comment on the line from 2019 that oil and gas were "systemic non-payers of tax".

The ATO repeats the line that oil and gas were among the small number of firms that they said in 2019 were "systemic non payers"

So yeah. They said it. Fact check that, Shell Oil

March 2026: +115% YoY EV sales.

Small base? Sure. But this is how S-curves ignite.

Cost, fuel prices, and better tech are doing the work. This isn’t a trend. It’s a breakout.

This is what fossil fuel top execs get paid the big bucks for:
to dissemble, obfuscate and evade accountability in public.

While privately lobbying to ensure government ministers are far more attentive to their profits than to the national interest. #auspol

Part 2 in "Just how big is the oil and gas industry".

The private adult education sector pays almost as much in wages as does the gas industry. Profits are a tad different.

Groomed, captured, deployed. How the Israel lobby runs Chris Minns - Michael West Police brutality, intimidation, harassment, free speech attacked. NSW Premier Chris Minns was groomed for Israel, writes Andrew Brown.

In 2003, before he held any significant office, Minns was selected for the AIJAC Rambam Israel Fellowship – an all-expenses-paid program with one purpose: take promising Australian political figures to Israel, immerse them, and bind them.
Not bribe them. Bind them. michaelwest.com.au/groomed-capt...

Yep. my daughter and I clash regularly. It's horrible. I distance myself as much as I can, without being punishing, or that's what it feels like if I do.🤷‍♀️ My sons and I don't clash at all. Are my daughter & I too much alike, or just too different? It's hard.💕

Right. My mind went back to Labor introducing the NDIS, then setting up a couple of trial sites, to work out the weaknesses, then they're turfed out, and the lnp got to roll it out. Lnp hated it, so fucked it from the start. Bastards.

Governments who continue to send weapons to Israel,
who refuse to impose sanctions,
and will do no more than 'express concern' about this vicious, racist, dehumanizing and genocidal behaviour,
are complicit.

It wasn't what labor envisaged the NDIS to be. Now that there are so many shonky providers, & some 'nice to have, but not essential' services provided by these agencies, at outrageous prices, it's going to take determined efforts to resolve this, & get back to basics.

Labour MPs vent fury at Starmer’s ‘toxic culture’ Rebellion grows against PM after Olly Robbins reveals he was under ‘constant pressure’ to clear Lord Mandelson as ambassador to US

“At the heart of this is a toxic and dismissive culture at No 10. At some point we can not get away from it.

“That divisiveness has led us to this place. This is not a small administration breach, it is a matter of national security.”

Kerrie, that's just unacceptable. Your situation was exactly what the NDIS was envisaged to support.😧

I can only imagine that the abuse will increase as some MP’s + their supporters/media play politics with this. They need to explain that many PwD’s requiring support get none whatsoever. I have to change my bedding, do laundry, vacuum, clean shower/toilet from a w/chair + I’m labeled a bludger?

Medical research delivers almost $4 of economic value for every $1 invested, with clinical trials producing even higher returns. The governement has money put aside for this industry already. That money is sitting unspent in the Future Fund while the sector struggles.

The Iranians are saying “we’re not going to negotiate with a liar who changes his position every twelve hours”, and the Americans are like “we can’t stop him doing that”.
So yes, it’s all going great for the global economy.

The unprovoked joint U.S.-Israeli war launched against Iran on 28 February 2026 will manifestly change West Asia. When it ends, Arab despots, who allowed their countries to be used as platforms for aggression against Iran, will confront a new reality.
