“Right here people might bring up Vincent van Gogh as an example of a painter who did great work in spite of—or because of—his suffering. I like to think that van Gogh would have been even more prolific and even greater if he wasn’t so restricted by the things tormenting him. I don’t think it was pain that made him so great—I think his painting brought him whatever happiness he had.” ― David Lynch

One of my favourite things anyone has ever said about art. You'll be missed, David. 🌹

As a beginner potter, I also have a growing pile of bisque waiting to be underglazed.

It takes me so long to paint a piece that I always end up avoiding it and throwing new ones 😅

Oh, that's a good #artshare, Brian! I agree we need more funny picture books, those are the ones I remember best from my childhood.

Probably my favorite character I've created is this little beagle from one of my picture books. I had so much fun drawing him being cute and naughty! #kidlitart

A mi y toda nuestra generación 💔

I hate Arches HP paper with a passion! I've never been able to paint in it confortably with any wet media. The Canson or Saunders Waterford ones are lovely, though. Thay have a little more "tooth" while still being super smooth.

Hey kidlit illustrators, I’d like to gift a free, one-hour, portfolio-review/coaching-session.

1) reply with a sample of your art.
2) repost this message.

I’ll pick a winner at random from those who do both. Win or lose, I’ll take a close look at every reply.

💙❤️

Ugh! I feel you, Vanessa, I've been feeling like this regarding Instagram for a long time. In consequence, I have no motivation to use it anymore (last year I think I posted only 4 times). The bad side is that the job offers I receive have plummeted since then, and I struggle to find an alternative.

A mi me pasa igual.
