There's a bit-of-a-debate as to whether the 'intruding' juv Peregrine at Cromer church yesterday was a hybrid. Luckily neither of the resident Peregrines spotted it. Any thoughts welcome! Here's some not-brilliant footage! #Peregrines @rspb.bsky.social

UPDATE: The experts in the group think it might be a hybrid bird. Will update when the consensus of opinion is in!

An 'intruding' juv was the highlight of the CPP watchpoint today. Not ringed so we know it wasn't one of the resident pair's previous juvs as they are all ringed. First egg should hatch c23rd April. We've had more 'intruding' Peregrines than previous years. @nenbc.bsky.social @rspb.bsky.social

Great fun at a pop-up art event today. Everyone else's designs were totally abstract but I had to be different and run before I could walk and had a go at some stylised designs (as labelled!) Not perfect, but not bad for a first attempt!

Wow! Huge movement of Sand Martins this afternoon along the cliffs between Sheringham and Weybourne. They briefly seemed to be investigating a previous colony site and then moved west and within minutes they'd gone.

Yay! It's Herr Brush and Hare Net! Not seem them for months. But the farmer has ploughed the field so they are obviously more visible. Some nice footage of them too. Thought they were going to get jiggy wid it but they were just messing around!

#AllBirdsMatter. Who needs rarities when you can just watch a 'common' bird? Check out this absolutely stunning female Blackcap on my patch first thing. So I dipped on the Redstart? Honestly I don't mind! @nenbc.bsky.social @rspb.bsky.social

For a laugh, in the pub last night we googled ourselves in AI Mode. Hilarious!!! I'm pleased I'm noted for my kindness!!! But the fact it found out that my name was misspelled on the gold disc is a tad scary!! #stoneroses

Another reprint of my book! Some of the (real-life) folks in the book feature in the play I entered into the Sheringham Little Theatre playwriting competition championed by Suranne Jones last year. As a runner-up I'll get to see it, or, rather hear it, as an audio-drama podcast! Exciting? Muchly?πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜‰

Lovely views of the White-Tailed Eagle at Cley marshes this morning. Carrying a fish! Nice size comparison: that gull is hardly Firecrest-sized!! Nice to see my first Swallow of the season too - odd that it's before I've seen a Sand Martin this year! @nenbc.bsky.social @rspbengland.bsky.social

Last week the weather was good in Sheringham & there was a small fall of Chiffchaff & a large fall of flies! You know when you go to that eat-all-you-can carvery & you're so excited you don't know where to start? This Chiffy seems to have had that problem @nenbc.bsky.social @rspbengland.bsky.social

My balcony Blackbirds are feeding young now and the Peregrines at Cromer Church laid their third egg last night. Excellent that they are three distinct colours as we can monitor the order they should hatch now. @nenbc.bsky.social

Hopefully we'll have a third Peregrine egg at Cromer Church tonight and the male Peregrine is seen here with two Starlings. You can just make out one at the front and briefly see him pick the bird at the back up by the wing. @nenbc.bsky.social

Sunrise over the beautiful town of Sheringham yesterday. Kestrel hunting with a Chiffchaff singing in the background. I had NINETEEN Chiffchaff yesterday - that's the ones I spotted because they were singing. Must have been loads more! @nenbc.bsky.social

Cromer Church peregrines have laid their first egg of the year today. Same date as two years ago! So this is their eighth year in residence!

Well! If the Cromer church peregrines don't lay any eggs this year it won't be for the lack of trying! @nenbc.bsky.social @cromerperegrines.bsky.social @rspbengland.bsky.social

Lots of mating at Cromer Church today. Hoping for eggs mid-March. This is the 8th year they've bred with a really good success rate for Peregrines. Only been one unsuccesful year where justone egg was laid (it's usually three) and it wasn't viable @nenbc.bsky.social @cromerperegrines.bsky.social

Bit unusual - 2 x Knot identifying as Turnstone at the front here in Sheringham! I've seen them occasionally on rocks but never marching up the prom!! @nenbc.bsky.social

Hasn't it been an amazing year for butterflies - and moths - I've had 20 sightings of Humming Bird Hawk Moths. Lucky if I see two in 'normal' years!

Good publicity for the new documentary coming up of newly-found footage which I hope I'm not in! I should point out that I didn't organise anything to do with the gig apart from taking 100s of phone calls and attempting to keep the merchandise tent under control!

Well, the male Redstart wasn't there today but this beaut was. I thought it was a female Black Redstart but I'm told it could be a first year male or female. Any help appreciated!! @nenbc.bsky.social @rspb.bsky.social @rspbengland.bsky.social @markclements27.bsky.social @yellowshriker.bsky.social
