@youranonnews.bsky.social where are you guys?

So, is the idea here that we (women) can abort "trans fetuses" (whatever that means) but no other abortions are allowed? Are they going to make a list of allowable abortions based on eugeneics? Jesus, what is happening here?!

Hey hey, he's extraordinarily brilliant. There must be something very nuanced here that our regular brains can't compute.

that's where I sit in this whole thing too... force them to outlaw it entirely

Ah yes, the joy of being female in America. No control over your own life, and a sexual free-for-all for the men. Tell me again that we can elect a female president.

yep, exactly.

This country will not elect a woman. FFS, we have to win! We need to face the fact that this is a misogynist country that won't even allow women to decide whether to have children, or treat them during a miscarriage in some states. Run a male candidate until we get out of this fucking mess.

Most Americans know what it would take to fix our broken country

- Abolish Citizens United
- Outlaw foreign influence
- End the electoral college
- Tax the oligarchs
- Reestablish rule of law
- Strict separation of church & state

It’s whether we have the courage to change our self-destructive ways

It's #NationalLibraryWeek. Libraries are amazing - free to residents, full of books and ready to order in books you can't find there, sometimes they (like ours) even have a seed library so you can plant your garden for free too. They have computers, museum passes and kindly librarians. Join.

7/When a president can make convictions disappear for his allies while leaning on prosecutors to go after his critics, the damage isn’t just theoretical, it’s already happening in front of our eyes. It’s on all of us to see it clearly and refuse to look away. joycevance.substack.com/p/justice-ac...

1949: Mission Sunday Fudge Cake A rich chocolate cake with coconut and walnuts by Mrs. Albert G. Plagens, an award-winning baker whose name should be known

In 1949 America, women were relegated mostly to the private spaces, both legally and culturally. Pillsbury celebrated their achievements in those spaces with the first Bake-off that year. Rose Plagens found her power in church and home. Here's her story.

It was a "can't put down" book for me. So was Project Hail Mary. I think Weir does a good job of moving the action and plot along rapidly despite all the science so I definitely get caught up in his novels.

He played music but it wasn't music he brought. I'm not sure why he didn't bring his own entertainment though... That's a good point. And the Beatles weren't part of the music he listened to.... I know the disco was comedic effect but you're right that there's a logic gap there

I agree with the other comments and also with the Hermes crew. You have a duty to disobey orders that put people in danger and Watney was in danger. NASA and the military build teams for a reason - they know that they will not only work together but also save each other. It was the right move.

Oh man. So many things.
1. Understanding how things grow is important and useful.
2. Science can save your life.
3. Every problem has a solution. You just need to find it.
4. People matter. Save them if you can. Mourn them if you can't.
5. Communication is everything.

The hubris is astounding. He must have missed Bible Study when they talked about humility.

No. I guess it's understandable and certainly less objectionable than banning books for ideological reasons. But it's naive to think the profanity would be new to classroom students.
