We need answers…
Extremely wrong-headed and disappointing. No wonder Natural England are reportedly furious. We all should be.
We all need to speak out to see this shameful move reversed and never licenses granted

However, the “continued absence of a formal wild release licensing system is preventing much-needed progress in restoring this species to our landscapes and catchments, and realising their full potential as a nature-based solution.”
Fortunately beavers are out there in our countryside and they will continue to recover, albeit more slowly, despite this ridiculous and counterproductive decision.
What complete nonsense!!
Licensed beaver release blocked as a ‘Tory legacy’?
If this is true then it is shameful.
How can anyone turn the reversal of a 400 year absence of a keystone species with broad public support into a party political issue?

It’s refreshing to see some positive nature stories 🌿
The UK is considered (and reported) to be one of the most nature-depleted places on 🌍
Perhaps thats what breeds the determination and innovation on display here 🦋

This seems wrong-headed
“Nature can’t afford to be a political football. We need future generations to understand or care for the natural world.”

Had the pleasure yesterday of listening to Kurt speak about the exhibition and his journey to track down the locations of some of the great historic paintings of Penwith and document, in his new paintings, how those landscapes and ecological communities have changed.
Fascinating 🌿
That’s tough - wishing you strength to keep going
There are currently over 50 farmers involved and room for more.

Yesterday I joined farmers at the West Penwith Grassland Society to discuss the Penwith Landscape Recovery project, an ambitious farmer-led initiative to develop bespoke, long-term agreements and funding for environmental land management.

Which is why at Cornwall Wildlife Trust we’ve built up a team of ecologists and farm advisers that are helping farmers and landowners across #Cornwall to develop their businesses in regenerative and nature-friendly ways.

Today of all days it’s important to recognise that farmers are the custodians of our countryside. As such they are key to delivering #nature recovery at scale.

Yep! Hope you’re well Abhishek
And here are some that have set up shop on our Helman Tor Nature Reserve complex here in Cornwall 🌿

More chance of seeing this than an actual beaver, but they’re on their way.
The UK government could help by opening up free release licenses. Licences being granted would allow well-thought out beaver releases in ways that maximise the benefits for nature and people.
Hey folks.
Taking the plunge… 🦋
