I'm also cautious about making it easier for AI to identify human-generated content to steal for training purposes and avoid eating its own tail.
Vault of the Void might be worth a look - outside of combat it allows you to swap cards in and out so that you can tailor your deck to encounters. Seems like that would reduce the RNG impact overall.

I've not caught up with everything yet but I think the best was Train Dreams. Overall, definitely agree it was a poor year.

My default response when people get it wrong is: "Yes, and we're nerds."
Listening to David Bowie's "Heroes" and realising its distorted soundscape might be a progenitor of shoegaze. With the bar's background noise, I initially mistook it for something from the Lost in Translation soundtrack (which features MBV's Kevin Shields and The Jesus and Mary Chain).
At a bar having a Sunday roast. At the table next to me a woman is interrogating a guy about being a sperm donor in the past. His perfect response to "so why did you decide to do it?" was "you know, for the love of the game...".

If eating cheese before bed causes nightmares, aren't cheesemongers really just a subset of fearmongers?
A terminal prompt with the following text: art@ai:~$ Generate a festive Christmas card featuring a stylised Santa Claus figurine with a rugged build. He is fair-skinned with a large white beard and is wearing a classic red Santa suit with white fur trim and gold accents. His left hand holds a beer stein aloft in a celebratory gesture. A large sack of toys is slung over his shoulder. He stands atop a base with wrapped presents and a teddy bear, all covered in a dusting of snow. The background is stark white. The words "Merry Christmas" are displayed in a decorative red font. Smaller text below reads "from meewella.com". The top and bottom of the image contain text with a runic appearance. The composition is centred with an illustrative style, focusing on bold colours and details.

An AI-generated video summary below a YouTube video titled "I'm done" about frustration with AI's rapid integration across platforms.
YouTube nails irony.
A twitter post from Reform UK with a photo of Nigel Farage and the text: Nearly 1 in 3 schoolchildren in Glasgow do not speak English as their first language. This is not diversity. This is culture smashing. Reform UK will make this a big issue in our campaign.
Statistics to draw from this post:
1. Nearly a third of Glaswegian children are bilingual. Pretty cool.
2. Two thirds of Nigel Farage's wives were "culture smashing".
Sky News article with the headline "Doctor Who Supplied Ketamine to Late Friends Star Matthew Perry Jailed"
Wildly misleading headline until you get to the final word.

Congrats to @digitalfoundry.bsky.social on going independent! I think many of us were worried about its future after the Ziff Davis acquisition of Eurogamer.
