The cis judge who decided it didn't really matter if Dr Upton was outed should have to pay her compensation imo. She's moved to the other side of the planet and she's still being stalked and harassed.

He ruined her life because he refused to consider outing and harassment a serious harm.

I'm making one last push to let people know about this online talk -- sponsored by the British Library in conjunction with their current exhibition on fairy tales. The live stream starts at 7:30 tonight, but if you buy a ticket *before* the event you can watch it any time over the next 7 days.

For her final semester Ruba a pharmacy student needs $600. This isn’t the only purpose of your donations, they also keep her and her family supplied with food and essentials, but she shouldn’t have to give up her dream after working so hard for it. She has studied tirelessly, in a tent, amid the bombs and never once has her dedication wavered. Her dream has always been to help people .

Ruba is one of the kindest people I have known, she has never wanted to trouble anyone, despite how much this dream means to her. This has stalled and sadly I don't know how to change that.

Doesn't she deserves your care?

Saw Banned Book Club in the popular section on Comics Plus and decided to give it a read given what we’re dealing with in the U.S.

This book is based on the events that took place in South Korea in 1983 and it is a true story. It was a great read.

Girl, the morning comes to consciousness
Of faint stale smells of beer
From the sawdust-trampled street
With all its muddy feet that press
To early coffee-stands.

wearing my Purple Rain shirt today, so the Trader Joe’s cashier talked to me about sneaking into Prince’s club when she was young, and how, since she owns a nursery now, the year he died, she only planted purple flowers

There’s a clear divide between the parties offering policies for LGBT people (Scottish Greens, Lib Dems, SNP) and parties attacking LGBT people to win votes (Reform, Tories, Labour)

Tweet by Martina Navratilova. "Predator. That is how he should register. A sexual predator…" quote-tweeting a tweet by "Biology Rules OK" about Dr. Beth Upton, a trans woman

This tweet is highly defamatory and Martina Navratilova should be fired from BBC Sport for it.

It demonstrates an horrendous level of hatred for a trans woman (who was cleared of all wrongdoing in a recent tribunal) because she is a trans woman.

Some of the other stories I gathered here include the time Prince invited me to his house, a glimpse at the Myst-like CD-ROM game he released in the 90s, some digital artifacts that I had the only copy of—including Prince’s own notes on his greatest hits, and the message behind his Super Bowl show.

a black and white typography edit that reads "dykes make the day brighter" in all caps. to the right of the text is a pair of linked carabiners. they have two charms on them embossed with the transgender symbol and two interlocking female symbols. there is also a heart shaped lock. the entire image is textured to look photocopied.

Antizionism is also a feminist movement.

"Palestinian women, men and children have reported attacks, forced nudity, invasive and painful body cavity searches, Israelis exposing their genitals, including to minors, and threats of sexual violence."

It’s Blue Shirt Day 2026.

There are 22,000+ political prisoners unlawfully detained in Myanmar suffering brutal conditions and torture in cramped cells.

We call for the immediate release of all political prisoners!

Inside a Black Panther Family Album Kathleen and Eldridge Cleaver’s family album depicts aspirational homemaking in diaspora, capturing the tension between rest and motion as they navigated exile with their children.

ā€œFor the subject-Ācitizen who lives under conditions of uncertainty and hostility, home is always in motion, necessarily has to be here and elsewhere; home is respite and retreat that necessarily has to be mobile.ā€

I was very late to the party on Silvia Park’s Luminous, with a lot of other reviewers having sung its praises before me, but I’m super glad to have got there because it was entirely worth every single bit of the hype.

how the fuck did "he would have fitted in well at the court of the Paedo King" become the Sensible Realpolitik alibi for "we just wanted to give a job to Peter because he's our mate"?

Amazing & terrifying how many ppl are willing to publicly announce that they are complete losers who are both hateful and bad at their jobs, and weirdly proud of being so awful? The impunity it speaks of is the terrifying bit.

Just like the DUP in 2010.

'Minister McCausland, believes that Ulster Protestants are one of the lost tribes of Israel, has written to the museum's board of trustees urging them to reflect creationist theories of the universe's origins. Anti-Darwinian theories in the museum- "a human rights issue".
