Good for them! This year will be the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian revolution. How fitting that the Russian stooge Orbán got kicked to the curb.

A great day for Hungary! My parents fled in 1956 that's how I ended up lucky enough to be born in Canada.
A woman wearing a raspberry coloured oversized t-shirt with alternating garter stripes and lace stripes.
Finished www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... for my sister's birthday. I'll make one for myself sometime too. Very comfy summer top. I used Sandnes Garn Tynn Line 🧶 held double. #knitsky #knitting #summerknits
A border collie mix sleeping on his back in an armchair with his legs hanging off.
Getting too big for his favourite chair (which is also being destroyed by the cats). #bordercollies #dogs #dogsofbluesky
A pair of grey tweed socks with a large spider cabled on the leg and baby spiders dropping down the foot.
I knit this free pattern www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... 16 years ago for my daughter. How is that possible?? Super fun pattern if you don't mind spiders🕷️ 😆 #showmeyourknits #knitsky 🧶
Yeah, the original uses a taupe/grey and the blue gets lost since the tonal values are the same. I think the vintage piece was knit in those colours and that's what they stuck with that. I was determined to use stash, so couldn't have used those colours even if I wanted to.
The back of a woman wearing a vest with traditional fair isle motifs in orange and cream through to grey and dark brown.
The front of the vest, a v-neck.
From my profile pic! Another hand spun piece, www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... The 🧶 was spun from different breeds and colours of roving from Dover Farms NS I got at a yarn festival. My spinning wasn't very consistent but you can't tell once it's knit up! #showmeyourknits #colourwork
I bought the braids already dyed, acid dyes.
A woman wearing an oversized colourwork pullover, background is blue and grey, motifs are light grey with a bit of yellow.
This was a labour of love (made 8 years ago!) I spun all the yarn 🧶 and although my gauge was way bigger than the original pattern www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... it turned out perfectly. Great cold weather sweater! #showmeyourknits #knitsky #colourwork #strandedknitting
It does, doesn't it. So interesting to see how different something can look when you change the colour around it. The original just looked washed out.
A woman wearing a fair isle cardigan in grey, yellow, red, white, and blue with blue cuffs and bands.
The original version of the cardigan with light grey bands which are narrower and wavy on the bottom.
I knit this 8 years ago from www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... and recently reknit the bands and cuffs (1st pic) because I wasn't wearing the original version very much. I'm much happier with the blue wider band and the non-wavy bottom trim. #showmeyourknits 🧶 #knitsky #colourwork #standedknitting
That is the best compliment especially if it is NOT followed by "do you sell your knits". Great looking sweater!
A woman wearing a light grey cardigan with red, blue, and navy colourwork in diamond shapes and zigzags.
Shoulder detail of the cardigan, showing a set-in sleeve worked topdown.
Showing how the op of the sweater is worked, flat at first.
I knit this old Arne and Carlos pattern 4 years ago in 3 different brands of stash 🧶 using the Cococknits topdown method. Once I finished the neck, I joined in the round and added steeks (the original was knit flat). #knitsky #colourwork #knitting #showmeyourknits
We got a border collie mix 2 years after our old pup died. Every time Lenny jumps on me at 1:30 am to say hi, nips my thigh because it's time for a walk, throws a toy for the 15th time behind the couch, I think of you and Junior and know it will all be worth it 😂 Thanks for the sweet reminders.
TiaTeva by Carol Sunday which I started 5 years ago in a cotton/wool blend. Must get this one done. Light grey background with navy fair isle colourwork inserts using short rows and striped body.
An Ceàrdach by Kate Davies. I changed this to a topdown fingering weight sweater, in light grey background alternating the colourwork rectangular motifs in dark grey and rust coloured.
Outcrop by Rachel Illsley. I am knitting this with Kat's Riverside Studio yarn in Hunter (dark green) and Trail (beige speckled yarn). Another topdown fingering weight pattern.
Fleur by Marie Wallin. Love the bright spring-like colours of Mondim. Cream background with gold, orange, light blue, mid-blue, and green colourwork diamond motifs.
This week's #showmeyourknits is colourwork. My absolute favourite kind of knitting. These are a just a few of my WIPs, many more lurking about because I can't stop casting on for new projects. Pattern names in the alt description. 🧶 #knitsky #knitting #colourwork #strandedknitting
A woman with a triangular crocheted scarf around her neck, in rusty red and light blue checkers and stripes.
The shawlette or scarf placed on a picnic table covered in snow. The bottom of the triangle looks checkered, the top part is striped.
It's March 27th and it is -8 Celsius, much colder with the wind, my yard is still covered in snow and I'm so grateful for my yarn stash! Loved making www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... in some stash Isager Spinni 🧶Made a smaller version since I only had one of each colour. #crochet #crochetaway
How did this little fuzzy ball become this glossy big boy in 3 months?? #bordercollies #dogs #dogsofbluesky
A young man wearing a striped and cables sweater in cream, green/gold and dark green.
A man wearing a green yoke sweater with gold and brown diamond shaped colourwork.
A bright green men's pullover with textured stitches on the top and teal stripes on the top and on the bottom of the sleeves, with brown stripes on the bottom ribbing.
An olive green brioche stitch men's pullover.
I've also knit a lot of green for others. One for my son, one for my BIL, and 2 for hubby who hates having his picture taken 😂#showmeyourknits #knitting #knitsky 🧶
A woman wearing a top down yoke sweater with the yoke in black with white dots and zigzag pattern with a bright green body and black and white zigzag pattern at the bottom.
A woman wearing a bright green knitted tee.
A woman wearing a bright green pullover with large leaves formed by very clever cable placement.
My favourite bright green 💚 First is www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... in Scheepjes Softfun, then www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... in Sandnes Garn Line, and finally the fabulous Norah Gaughan's www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... in some discontinued Polwarth. #showmeyourknits #knitting 🧶 #knitsky
A lime green top-down pullover with an all over lace pattern.
The bottom of a green cardigan (Pressed Flowers Cardigan) with mosaic flowers in my own hand spun yarn.
The front of a cotton pullover with a large green diamond on the front in different greens. Melissa from Rowan Magazine 69.
A light green topdown pullover with brown/cream/pink. Pattern is called Dessine-moi un mouton. This WIP is 12 years old! I have to finish it before it becomes a teenager!
This week's #showmeyourknits theme is green. And I have lots of green WIPs that need finishing 🤦🏻♀️ Good time to bring them out, even though it's snowing AGAIN. #knitting #knitsky #knit 🧶
Just north of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if we still have snow in April. We've had 2 mild winters and then this one which was a doozy. Skiers are happy!
A picture of a lace loose-fitting v-neck pullover with a graphic lace pattern.
A border collie on the porch enjoying the snow with more coming down.
Also on my needles, Kanava from 52 weeks of Sweaters. Using linen/cotton stash 🧶 and dreaming of spring despite this being the actual state of affairs 😫 and getting more snow today. #showmeyourknits #knitting #knitsky #knitting
It uses short rows but otherwise is not really complicated.
The beginning of the back of a tee with garter rows in between lace rows, knit in a dusty rose colour linen blend yarn.
Something new on my needles, www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... which I am making for my sister for her birthday. Holding 🧶 Sandnes Garn Tynn Line double. Will make one for myself too 😁 #showmeyourknits #knitting #knit #knitsky
Half the body of an orange coloured cabled sweater.
One of my oldest WIPs? 🤦🏻♀️ @norahgn.bsky.social pattern www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... started in 2010? I think the cables defeated me at the time but they clicked now and it's smooth sailing. Using Berroco Remix 🧶 #showmeyourknits #knitsky #knitting
It is fun. I will definitely try the construction again, maybe try to add short rows to lower the front neckline.
I know! It'll look great with bright yellow pants. One could also make wider stripes and then it wouldn't have such a dizzying effect.
Favourite thing on my needles is this free pattern www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... I am using stash DK cotton 🧶. Love the construction, might use it again for some other sweater. #showmeyourknits #knit #knitsky #knitting
A woman wearing a medium grey colourwork yoke pullover. The yoke is worked in light grey, light blue, gold and dark grey/blue in a bohus inspired pattern.
I recently finished www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... again using stash 🧶 . Still plenty of cold weather so getting lots of wear out of it. #showmeyourknits #knitsky #knitting
A navy pullover with grey ribbing and yellow tiger head on the front.
A grey pullover with yellow ribbing with a navy T-Rex skull across the bottom.
A pullover in mostly blues self-striping sock yarn with a navy gecko on the front.
For someone who hates intarsia I sure knit a lot of it for the grandkids! Most of the 🧶 was bought at thrift stores. These are all Martin Storey patterns. #showmeyourknits #knitting #knitsky
