Since writing that, I've noticed the video description says something like "For those asking, Doug and I are both adults, it was fine."

Which is probably for the best.

But to make up for it, the description contains the link to a whole extra Dan Olsen video!!!!

I need to see all the footage of him and Doug W awkwardly sharing the weekend, the golf cart, their hotel room, everything.

I did my secondary school work experience at the PHG&M a lifetime ago. My Record of Achievement has a picture of me with the yellow-wheeled bike.

Went on to have a career in museums and eventually graduated as an archivist before being cruelly crippled by an employability destroying disability.

I believe that in order to take some small step forward, the word “bird” should be replaced with “saur” in all common names. Mockingsaur. Secretarysaur. Red-winged blacksaur.

Sometimes a #napowrimo poem is dense and important. Sometimes it's just mucking about with adverbs.

Today I learned there's an ancient Mesopotamian cuneiform tablet with tooth marks in it that dental experts reckon are from an eight year old.

Some mad lad in scribal school gave in to the impulsive thoughts.

The all seeing eye in a pyramid, but the eye is a poke-ball. The lines and background are reminiscent but legally distinct from the design on the back of pokemon cards. In the pyramid are written the words 'gatta catch 'em all! you MUST catch 'em all! Catching them all is MANDATORY!'

A digital illustration of two figures. One figure (Archer) is carrying the other (Sabbat) in a bridal carry. There's fire and smoke around them. Archer is a slender, light skinned man with long dark hair. His hair is partially tied back but has come partially undone, and is covering one side of his face. That side of his face looks heavily injured but it's unclear what exactly has happened to it. His other eye is bright yellow with a silt pupil and is staring directly into the "camera". The lower half of his face is covered in blood. He's wearing a light shirt, dark blue jacket and grey trousers, all bloodied and burned and dirtied. Sabbat, in his arms, is a darker skinned man with long dark hair. His hair is loose around his head and shoulders, and is covering his face other than his nose. There's blood matted into his hair and on his nose. He's curled close into Archer's chest, one hand holding onto Archer's shirt; the other is crossed across his body and his hand is dangling loosely. He's wearing a light shirt and brown trousers, both also covered in blood and dirt. Hidden in the smoke around Sabbat's back is handwritten text that says "IllustratedJai 2025". In the bottom-right corner of the image is handwritten text that says "Braving Lighting, Sailing the Storm: an Argentum in Aqua short story by Finn McLellan; art by Jai "IllustratedJai" McCubbin".

An illustration of a drow character dancing in the moonlight in an art nouveau pastiche style. The character has dark grey skin and short white hair, and is wearing a fantasy binder and tight boxer briefs and nothing else. They are holding a sword above their head. Their head and shoulders are framed by a full moon with a starry night sky behind it. The lower half of the background is a stone wall covered in flowers, all of them night blooming varieties. In the centre of the bottom border is a circle with a silhouetted figure with long white hair dancing in a mirrored pose to the main character.

A digital illustration of a trio of cartoon characters carrying a comically large, old fashioned key above their heads. Each of the characters has a big round head that's totally out of proportion with their weird squishy bodies. From left to right, the characters are: A, the tallest figure, with long blonde hair and gold glasses, wearing a black shirt with a symbol from Dresden Codak, beige trousers and brown shoes; Jai, the middle height figure, who has a big poof of bright blue hair and is wearing blue glasses, a white short-sleeve button-up shirt with a cactus print on it, baggy black trousers, and pink and orange sneakers; and Finn, the shortest figure, who has short brown hair, and is wearing a red button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a black waistcoat, brown trousers and brown boots. A has the round bit of the key, Jai has the middle, and Finn has the sticky-outy-bit. The background is a sort of cream colour, and faintly visible is the handwritten phrase "hup hup hup hup," repeated over and over again, filling up the entire background.

A digital illustration of two cartoon sloths standing bipedally, and holding "hands". The sloths are facing each other, and their claws are overlapped, with a little heart floating above their clasped claws. The sloth on the left is slightly taller and slightly darker brown; the sloth on the right is slightly shorter and slightly lighter brown. Neither of them is wearing any clothes. Both of their eyes are closed, and their expressions read somewhere between calm and joy. The background is a light cream colour, and there are decorative curlicue elements in the four corners of the image.

If you look carefully, you can see where I removed the word 'anarchist' to allow the sentence a better mouth-feel.

Oh my god, so true.

Primary School Me saw an episode of a show where an aboriginal character did a stand up routine about aboriginal rights. It was perhaps more educational than whatever they were teaching in school that day.

Oh shit, Historical Illuminatus! Chronicles in the style of Pokemon Arcues would rock!

I think doing the Schrödinger's Meowth trilogy would be too obscure.

Next prog was also great!

Reading Helium, I realised that it's easy to take 2000ad's artists for granted. Like, we've had D'Israeli since I was a kid, so I think of him as part of 'the normal standard'.

But his work is fucking great. Same to Culbard and Currie et al.

And that's *just this prog*

Remember Wilson and Shea's collected trilogy; Illuminatus Red!, Illuminatus Blue! and Illuminatus Green!?

Well now the cover of the collected edition is available on mugs and badges and shit.

Get it before the Discordians do!

That is, they're not losers 'caus they choose to Christian-splain the pope.

They're losers because they're wrong and also losers.

1 week ago 1 0 0 0

Seeing people mock right-wing losers for challenging the pope on Christian principles and, like, yes, tick, I agree these guys are wrong and losers

but also...

Challenging the pope is one of the most Christian things a Christian can do. One of the most Catholic things, even.
