In Utah and across the country, the first freeze is coming later than it used to because of human caused #climatechange
In Salt Lake City, we’ve seen in arrive 8 days later since 1970 as our atmosphere warms.
This can make fall allergies worse and lessen summer fruit yields.
Development is destroying pollinator habitat. But we met some folks who are doing something about it in #Utah.

The bees have worked hard over the summer. Our upper box is full of honey. 80 lbs worth I bet! They should be well stocked for winter.

Honeybees use pollen as a protein source. The more flowers you plant, the better!
Go forth and plant with a focus on flowers native to your area. The bees will thank you.

When newly-minted forager bees leave the hive for the first time, they fly figure 8 patterns around the hive to build a mental map of the area.
This way, they can navigate back to the hive each day as they gather resources.
