Each evaluation will also look at secondary outcomes such as pupil confidence and teacher knowledge, and the effectiveness of programme implementation. All trial schools will receive an incentive and are very important to contribute to educational research and future funding.

We are looking to recruit 580 schools (yikes) over two programmes, our expert evaluators are @sheffieldhallamuni.bsky.social and @nferclassroom.bsky.social. We will compare pupil attainment in an intervention and control groups for both programmes, hoping for a statistically significant difference.

Latest ITT statistics are somewhat positive, with most secondary subjects - especially shortage ones - recruiting better than last year. Primary down a smidge, English down due to bursary cut

But majority still likely to be below target (this is last year's targets: new actuals out next month)

Wild citations and where to find them Citations are crucial to academia. For me, they’re the literal way of saying, “I stand on the shoulders of giants.” They allow us to build on existing knowledge, floor by floor, forming an ever-growin...

A claim gets misquoted, a source misread, and suddenly, a whole research thread is built on something that was never actually there.
