oil on canvas composition, Impressionistic abstraction, layered brushwork, thin glazes, scumbled highlights, surreal dunes seamlessly rise into elegant slender towers, flowing geometry with elongated smooth vertical curves, clean surfaces, sharp elegant edges, calm and majestic negative space, bright crescent moon, wet-in-wet blending, luminous atmospheric haze, impasto accents, strong visual flow --ar 5:7 --stylize 400 --v 8.1

The Layman
Sometimes I take quiet walks
That last for several years.
Never home again, I have been known
To pass the old house on occasion.
Today, I stand far from it
Healing where a tree has broken
Through a tender rib of sky.
Scenes rush on; graduate us . . .
One day I may feel as large
As whatever it is I am up to.
But in all likelihood, I will die this way:
Not quite bright enough.

ON THE LEAN DIVIDER
Not a child, nor a woman either,
Caught with the day on the edge of noon,
Amphibian of the pond and sun,
She takes her ease in sand, by water;
Keys her breath to the sibilant stir
That weaves in the grass along the short,
Lifts, in passing a strand of hair,
And ravels a path to who knows where.
No further visitant, no sound
Disturbs that drowsiness, no ripple
Flaws the unwrinkled face of the pond;
But the mottled cove extends a supple
Hand to the hills, and there, dark-pined,
Draws down a cottage by a weedy stair
And touches a tentative finger-end
To a boat half floating, half on the sand
My grandfather was a published poet (The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Kenyon Review, etc.)
He died in a car crash before I was 3, on the way to visit us for Christmas, and everyone says he and I would have been best friends
This is one of my favorites of his

Incredible talk describing precisely what binds us furry weirdos at the end of the world together, forming a poetic of alien fur, linking it with UFO culture โโโ everybody is a friend; beautiful!! Watch it!! And watch Rukus (2018) too.

A drawing of a realistic dog wearing a tie saying; "I need to lock in and prove that I am capable. I need to be taken seriously." While a drawing of a cartoon dog says; "I need to stay silly and whimsical lest I lose the very essence of myself." Perpetrating an endless cycle

And one last buggo before bed. Green June beetle grubs will use their little rolls of backfat to scoot around because their teeny legs are kind of worthless.

"If you were in charge of Star Trek what would you do?"
The Pitt but in space. Highly serialized, 15-episode season about a spaceship getting in serious trouble and having to claw its way out. Ship gets more busted every episode. Think Year of Hell but if they actually did it.

I'm one of those trans women. I worked ground ops for Artemis I.
I am torn between celebrating the success of my friends and peers and grieving how my dream of working for NASA was shattered by hateful assholes in Tallahassee
