Yeah, that's exactly how I feel about S3. Not as polished as S1/S2 buts lots of highs.

I think S1 and S3 are close for me. Even almost made them a tie when ranking.

S4 is the only one that stands out in quality compared to the other ones.

Haven't read the comic but I kinda like how it's like Breaking Bad with a beginning/middle/end in spite of some weak S4 pacing.

I like Homelander as a metaphor for fascism. Vought made him thinking they'll control him and then he takes over. Don't know how the comic did it but it works in show IMO.

First two seasons are just one big season split in two.

3 is up there. I remember it being weaker but having rewatched it, it holds up.

4 is still good but it can feel mid compared to the first three if you watch them back-to-back. A lot of it feels like a setup for season 5 and the finale.
