It's not just dogs that are happy when their owner comes home; cats can be just as happy, as you can see here.🫠🥰😅

Today is #InternationalPlantAppreciationDay, a time to celebrate the plants around us. Spring has always been my favourite season, and the apple trees in my garden are just coming into blossom, one of my most loved sights. What flowers do you look forward to in April and May?

Encircled in Light - Te Mata Peak, Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand
Last week on Te Mata Peak — and a reminder of why I love calling Hawke's Bay, New Zealand home. 🌿
Morning mist, golden light, and a ridge that never gets old. Moments like this remain rare, even after many visits.

Close-up of a nodding yellow wild tulip (Tulipa sylvestris), its slender stem arching gracefully so the flower hangs downward. The soft petals, washed with green and gold, catch the light against a blurred background of spring colour.
Tulips were cultivated in the Ottoman Empire long before they reached Europe. Their name is thought to derive from the Turkish tülbent, a turban cloth, the flower’s form resembling its folds. In the 17th century, they sparked the famous Dutch “Tulip Mania”.
