It's software compatible with the AS7343, so that's nice to not have to write a new driver! We'll figure out what the differences are, but for starters it's a little less expensive at Digi-Key so that's a good reason just on its own to carry!

We just wrapped up the AS7343 breakout from ams-OSRAM, with 14-channel spectral sensing, and we saw that their webpage recommended a new version of this sensor called the TCS3448.
Only thing that is kinda annoying is ams-OSRAM keeps having "two" part numbers for their sensors, like the datasheet references TSL2585 but when you buy it you get TSL25853. Other than that, we're looking forward to getting this out the door before summer!
this one is a light sensor that also has UVA reading, so it's handy for outdoor sensing where you may want to know how much UV light is being emitted for skin health.

Everything is red. The only thing that didn't crater was the community, which kept shipping while Qualcomm was busy rewriting the Terms of Service. "Open source is love" says the report.
