The error of the neo-Luddites is that they have lost the experience Marx refers to; half of them valorise the Chartists & the Luddites as superior examples to follow than e.g. the Bolsheviks. Even that's charitable; for many red liberals it's as simple as "technology bad".

Marx would've eaten them.

Yes. Marx on Luddism: “It took both time and experience before workers learnt to distinguish between machinery and its employment by capital, and therefore to transfer their attacks from the material instruments of production to the form of society which utilises those instruments.”

resisted this rant the other day, but marx was in favor of automation. marx thought automation was good. marx thought the OWNERSHIP of the automation was bad.

it is difficult for me to see how people who think they're on some branch of the marx ideological tree don't get this

Potentially some daucus glochidiatus - Australian native carrot (?), amongst some invasive species in a garden bed (and among the grass on the curb). They're loving the seed pod mulch from the grevillea.

Today, high on a rocky ledge in the mountains of China, I found Rehmannia glutinosa: a beautiful hemi-parasitic plant with large, upside down flowers that seem afloat.

A Soviet propaganda poster depicting a collaboration between a scientist in a suit and a worker in overalls and goggles. The scientist, holding a ruler, appears to be guiding the worker, who is engaged in industrial labor. The background features an industrial setting with machinery and metal beams. The slogan in bold blue letters promotes the unity of science and labor.

Photo of a captured Israeli tank in front of a wire fence. Two celebratory Palestinian men stand on top of it, one of them is waving the Palestinian flag and both are flashing victory signs. In the top left is written "Weapons may be important, but the people's spirit of defiance in struggle is decisive!" The logo of the CPA(ML) is in the top right corner. This logo consists of a red star with the Eureka flag superimposed upon it
