Our first ARKEVs in Barkley Sound have now been in the water for a month and a half! By now, the sporophytes have likely established holdfasts and started developing blades.

For #PhycologyFriday, some (submerged) intertidal seaweeds here in Lekwungen territory (south Vancouver Island). Watching a sunlight dance on the Iridescent Seaweed (which has one of my fave Latin names, Mazzaella splendens) was a real treat!
The rising sun glows through red (*Mastocarpus papillatus*) and green (*Ulva californica*) algae growing on a rocky shore.
