I don’t often use the overextended word “iconic”, but as the adage goes, there are a hundred thousand songs about falling in love, but there’s only one song about the boys being back in town.
musically, lyrically, & sonically perfect, it’s as good as rock n roll gets.

Steamed Hams full transcript Well, Seymour, I made it- despite your directions. Ah. Superintendent Chalmers. Welcome. - I hope you're prepared for an unforgettable luncheon. - Yeah. Oh, egads! My roast is ruined. But what if I were to purchase fast food and disguise it as my own cooking? Delightfully devilish, Seymour. Ah- Skinner with his crazy explanations The superintendent's gonna need his medication When he hears Skinner's lame exaggerations There'll be trouble in town tonight Seymour! Superintendent, I was just- uh, just stretching my calves on the windowsill. Isometric exercise. Care to join me? Why is there smoke coming out of your oven, Seymour? Uh- Oh. That isn't smoke. It's steam. Steam from the steamed clams we're having. Mmm. Steamed clams. Whew. Superintendent, I hope you're ready for mouthwatering hamburgers. I thought we were having steamed clams. D'oh, no. I said steamed hams. That's what I call hamburgers. You call hamburgers steamed hams? Yes. It's a regional dialect. - Uh-huh. Uh, what region? - Uh, upstate New York. Really. Well, I'm from Utica, and I've never heard anyone use the phrase "steamed hams. " Oh, not in Utica. No. It's an Albany expression. I see. You know, these hamburgers are quite similar to the ones they have at Krusty Burger. Oh, no. Patented Skinner burgers. Old family recipe. - For steamed hams. - Yes. Yes. And you call them steamed hams despite the fact that they are obviously grilled. Ye- You know, the- One thing I should- - Excuse me for one second. - Of course. Well, that was wonderful. A good time was had by all. I'm pooped. Yes. I should be- Good Lord! What is happening in there? - Aurora borealis. - Uh- Aurora borealis at this time of year at this time of day in this part of the country localized entirely within your kitchen? - Yes. - May I see it? No. Seymour. ! The house is on fire. ! No, Mother. It's just the northern lights. Well, Seymour, you are an odd fellow but I must say you steam a good ham.
Today is officially the 30th anniversary of Steamed Hams. On April 14, 1996, "22 Short Films About Springfield" aired for the first time!
Image of the current WIP state of the Abaddon project. By now I have more paint on the piece, newly added is a larger area in red, orange and yellow tones, which are a first WIP state of the fire effect mapped out and essentially mid-planning.
Side-by-side comparison of the close-up image of the current WIP state of the Abaddon project. On the left is my miniature interpretation of the art on the right, the original and iconic warhammer artwork "eye of terror" by Karl Kopinski. By now I have more paint on the piece, newly added is a larger area in red, orange and yellow tones, which are a first WIP state of the fire effect mapped out and essentially mid-planning.

Here's the new WIP update of the Eye of Terror / Abaddon project.
I'm very much in the middle of figuring out how to best place the fire. Conceptually it is engulfing the black legion below, and reaching about halfway up Abby's body.

Clearly not! I don't know if New Zealand has GPs, but I've met a few like that here...
Fair fucks to you mate! Although that first doctor was a shite, it's true that a lot of us are noticing how hot the water in this pot's been getting lately. Whatever you choose to do in the end, I hope it helps to know I back it 100% - least I can do for the gent that got me into the hobby, eh.
The teams line up - Necromantic preparing to kick, while the Bretonnians adopt a "Christmas tree" formation.
A wraith pressures the knight carrying the ball - a hairy moment for the Bretonnians early on, but they soon recover for their first TD
A brawl breaks out late in the first half, as the ghoul carrying the ball looks for a gap he can exploit to even the score.
Faced another of the BBBL's big dogs - and came out with a fighting draw!
The Hel Fenn Howlers managed to fend off CBA TBA, equalising late in the first half before denying the Bretonnians a 2-1 win at the end of the second with a *brutally* lucky last-gasp blitz. We march on! 💪

An almighty brawl opens up between a Necromantic and an OWA team, as both sides scramble for the ball.
Almost forgot to post: after their first defeat in the League, the Hel Fenn Howlers managed to stop the rot with a fine fighting draw (1-1) against division leaders the Old World Order. Not bad when you lack your second Flesh Golem for that match!

True - they are very visibly a redo of the old Mordheim Skaven, to the point that I though "great, don't have to hunt through Ebay now!" when I first saw them. Odd times!
To be fair, it looks like GW were intending to release new Steel Legion models after all - but why they couldn't have just said that from the start is anyone's guess!
Victory! I've taken long breaks between painting them as I don't enjoy working on the same model over and over and during that time, my color scheme has drifted. Over the past week, I've taken the time to unify the color scheme so now I can call them done!

BRING BACK MORALE CHECKS
I know not
Bretonnian Blood Bowl teams definitely like to do the whole knight thing, but apparently there is also a team of just Damsels running around
Genuinely was just saying to a mate the other day that there was very little that hooks me about 40K these days, and my interest in it was likely gone for good.
Anyway, being able to admit you were wrong is an important part of maturity, I'm told,
Look who's back

A Drow holding an axe and smiling at it in an insane way.
I'm told that the blade itself incites to deeds of violence
A quirk of a low sample size: In the 3 months of #bloodbowl 3rd season edition, the most popular played race was Orcs. And they're pretty good, having the 5th highest win-rate. The best team *against* Orcs has been .... Halflings!
I finished my Casket of Souls. My Tomb Kings army is officially finished.
You could probably also imagine a fourth option alongside these, which is that mercenary/Dogs of War armies are a *far* more common sight in Bretonnia than is reflected in the game itself. One doesn't boast of hiring Tileans to do your fighting for you, but it happens...
Been watching a fair bit of Mordheim stuff recently, trying to get a sense of it - I dunno, I think I'd better be careful here or this could easily become a new money-sink for me!
The Pricemaster saying yes to a check for $18,000

2000pts of Tomb Kings fully painted. Now to learn the rules and find an opponent.
This is my unit submission for Squidmar Open 2025. Hoping to paint a few more boys in 2026!

Necromantic and Lizardmen players square off on the line of scrimmage, blood bowl fans roaring in the stands as they do so.
The Hel Fenn Howlers' great start to the BBBL has come to a sharp end, as the Rainbow Raptors chewed them up and spit them out for a 2-0 win. Worse, Sparkplug (Flesh Golem, 1) will be missing next game as he gets stitched back together!
Still, the season's only begun - we go again...

The ultimate Tomb Kings cage, a thrower surrounded by four burly Tomb Guardians
Tomb Kings and orcs scrap it out in game 2 - a 1-0 win for the Nehekharans
The Tomb Guardians finally meet someone stronger than they are, in the form of a treeman - a 2-0 loss to an Old World Alliance team.
Amazons furiously try to prevent the advance of a Tomb King rolling cage - 1-1 in the end.
This Saturday just gone, I attended the BBBL Winter Classic! Tomb Kings are very different to my usual style of team, but my Lybaras Cobras did OK in the end - a perfectly statistical 1-1-1 ratio of results. Definitely a fun one!

Loving my latest project; Warhammer Bretonnians. This is my converted Lord on Hippogryph, Lord Reynald de l’Aiguille, riding Aubéclaw from the province of Parravon.

Part 2 of my Warhammer Bretonnians project, a full unit of Knights of the Realm. Really fun to do the individual heraldry on these and already planning out the second unit!

Test model finished for my new Bretonian Blood Bowl team ‘Grail Madrid’. Meet Guinevere.
His back to the agents, Pretti pockets his phone and begins to help the woman on the floor. An agent continues spraying [pepper] in his direction, while other agents rush towards them.
They drag Pretti away from the woman he was attempting to help, and several agents wrestle him to the floor.
