Wow. Today the ECJ found Hungary violated EU law with its anti-gay statute, but the most revolutionary part of the decision is that the Court found that Art. 2 TEU, laying out European values, could be used as an independent legal ground in cases before the Court. curia.europa.eu/site/upload/...

Trump on refunding proceeds from his illegal tariffs: "We're giving a lot of that money back to people that hate our country, so I'm not happy with the Supreme Court"
I think it’s bad that the president casually refers to a leader of the opposition as a “traitor.”

He has zero idea what a currency swap is. Bet me
Adding context that CTA has two other security contracts. One with Allied Universal (viewed more favorably than Monterrey) and Action K-9 so this is not the end of private security on train platforms
I know doorbell cameras are bad etc but I'm having a good time watching the workers replace our front sidewalk via ours. Yesterday they took up the pieces of sidewalk. This morning, a guy came, put the wood frames down, and left. There is a very clear division of labor happening.
Like, literally all that needs to be done here is to stop framing these stories from a "Trump says" standpoint as if what Trumps says and what reality is are congruous. They are not! They do this bc a) theyre mostly lazy & this framing doesnt require extra work and b) bc they like him
Not very romantic but, unfortunately, this resonates. I was single for 80% of my life and the 20% that I've been married has been more comfortable financially. And every person I know who has divorced has struggled with $$$ after divorcing.
One part that I do question is when Tucker Carlson says “it was not intentional.” I think it was — he just didn’t give a f*ck since he was making a shitload of money. But maybe I’m too cynical. 🤷♂️
Recently started biking for real, and holy f-ck - the cars. I swear to absolute fucking God. The cars man. I've never in my 30+ year life seen so many stupid fucking idiots in traffic. Blind motherfuckers. They are making my blood boil. Today someone decided it was a great time to make a U-turn in the middle of the street. I kept distance but the car was jerking and was indecisive and just stopped forcing me to go right on the curb making me fall head over the handle bar and crash. Not a care in the world the driver just looked at me and drove off. Never in my life have I seen so many stupid people that can't drive. And I've had a drivers license for over 20 years soon.
A common thread among newer cyclists is realizing just how awful drivers are. There are things you simply don't notice — behavior that has been normalized — when you mostly drive. Biking, walking, or rolling through the world changes that.
70 Minnesota children.
Delta Air Lines, who likely flew nearly all of these kiddos out of MSP, could publicly condemn this and end the practice tomorrow, as the airlines did in 2018 with family separation, but it’s easier to stay silent.
📣 New @etsc.eu report says cycling not being made safe enough, fast enough across EU 🚴♂️
🤔 What's needed? Report says more urban 20mph, more protected cycle lanes & safe junctions etc. Full report: www.etsc.eu/pinflash50
Trump: "I watched this low IQ, Hakeem Jeffries. He's a totally low IQ person."
Also, she is a DINO.
As a matter of principle, you can either have a dinner that celebrates the First Amendment or you can have a dinner that features Donald Trump. You can’t have both because the president holds the freedom of the press in contempt. www.mediamatters.org/donald-trump...

If you know anything about the smart glasses ICE is developing, text me via signal at 202-510-1268
Spain has recently outpaced the US in GDP growth, emerging as one of the fastest-growing major advanced economies. As of 2024–2025, Spain’s economy is growing at a rate over 3% annually, exceeding the US (~2%) and Eurozone (~1%) averages.
Donald is such an uninformed idiot.
I was the only person out of 8 to bike to dinner at The Clove in Glenview. 😁 Fantastic food, discounted on Mondays! Ride home on roads not bad, very little traffic.
ICE detained the wife of an active-duty U.S. Army Sgt. First Class after she showed up for an immigration appointment in 📍 El Paso—then still threatened removal despite legal protections.
Her husband (27 years active duty) said it plainly: ICE is out of control.
Meanwhile the feds are canceling and reducing SS4A grants because of reductions in vehicle level of service. Which is exactly the point of SS4A.

BREAKING: Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer has RESIGNED.
Her exit follows a tenure rocked by multiple scandals—including an investigation into an alleged affair with a security staffer and accusations of drinking on the job.
Keith Sonderling will serve as Acting Labor Secretary.
The Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy has said the federal government shouldn’t be funding bike lanes.
The top member of Congress writing the next transportation reauthorization bill has said that the next five years of federal funding won’t include bicycling and walking projects.
Diana Moreno (Zohran's successor) reminds everyone the 31st St fight is not about "whether you like bikes." There is an objectively correct answer the city must follow. This is the perfect point I want to hear politicians make EVERYWHERE. (@dianaforqueens.com)
