and hello to stuntman extraordinaire, multimedia talent, and dear friend Scott! TV was invented just so that people like you could do the things you do!
100 years ago today, John Logie Baird demonstrated television transmission, airing this image. And just 95 years later, I chose it for the cover of my book.
Il jockey della morte (1915) is the best film I've seen all year.
that's a trick question, right?
No one mentions whether or not Netflix will also hold the patent for WarnerColor from now on.
in hope to get me followers here, I adopted a cute dog.
An exciting addition to the ever expanding filmography of TV in pre-1939 cinema: Pat and Patachon Invent the Gunpowder (1931) is now our 147th entry www.dorongalili.com/television-i... Watch it here www.stumfilm.dk/en/stumfilm/... and be in touch if you know of other entires we missed.
Just a reminder that in 1916 - long before Pete Townshend and other rocker dudes made it their signature move - Grace Cunard smashed a guitar in The Bandit's Wager.
you never write, you never call.
just got a notification about it to my email, and loved how it makes a perfect - albeit passive aggressive - sentence.
to all the great suggestions here I have to add a movie recommendation: the crazy, crazy The Devil Commands (1941) - mad scientist Boris Karloff uses bodies to build a radio with which to communicate with his dead wife. Lots of fun www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBWQ...

Very special thanks to @misterminsoo.bsky.social for organizing this event!!!
Thanks for the shout out! It was actually purchasing the DVD of Murder by Television (back in 2003!) and figuring out it was made in 1935 that first got me interested in early TV history, and sent me down the path that led to this book...
do you know when those might be ready for shipping?
corporations are mountains, too!
attn @othershoe.bsky.social !
you, XL? no way!
I felt like the apt synopsis would be: a real estate agent gets a crappy work travel assignment. He swears that if he makes it back alive he'll kill hiss boss and burn down the property - and indeed he does.
i'm on it
hi @jinsangtae.bsky.social - what's your shirt size?
I think it's time we launch a GoFundMe campaign to get you a desk. Looks terribly uncomfortable to sit in this armchair and type on the floor.
