Can you imagine if the Wakefield paper never saw the light of day and where we might be now?

This is very true 🐍
Bathroom, hallway, CT…
Horrible ideas overheard in the emergency department, Pt 53:
“Let’s wait to intubate the patient in the ICU.”
Oh jeez, that does not sound relieving at all!
The chemical structure of brevetoxin-1, drawn with a TWSBI ECO fountain pen and Iroshizuko Kon-peki ink (a vibrant blue).
It's time for Tox Tuesday and some fountain pen structures! This beast is BREVETOXIN-1, produced by the marine dinoflagellate Karenia brevis. It is also the cause of neurotoxic shellfish poisoning (NSP). But aside from harming humans, it also harms our economy, so buckle up!
Hell yeah, go get it! May the spirit of Ronnie Coleman be with you
I feel this… AZ is just on big dust bowl. Every night cetirizine or loratadine (whatever 90 day bottle I buy) is the routine. 👃🏼💦
Pulled the trigger on a new whip (X6 Msport)… slapped on some fresh tint and ceramic coating! My Jeep (2019 Grand Cherokee) just couldn’t cooperate after 3 waters pumps… now needing a 4th, oil leaking from everywhere, and engine mounts blown. 😎
Your kid is BOSS
Starting House M.D. again…
You’ve already done so much for the fields of EM & Tox… I look forward to all your future endeavors.
(Pleeeeeaase don’t burn out!)
Congrats on the upcoming 👶🏻
Still working on projects from fellowship & now, my post-fellow job is asking me to projects (somewhat optional) amongst other groups asking for me to join projects/research.
I get it, b/c if you pass an opportunity, it may not come back & you want to remain relevant.
Today marks the end of an era… said adios to my Jeep after 7 years, but at 46,000 miles I shouldn’t be on my 3rd water pump needing a 4th, engine mounts shot & an oil leak from who knows where🤷🏻♂️. Found this note in my car from my first month of owning it brand new after someone smashed it🤣#ByeByeJeep
Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica… chaos
A striped pajama squid. They're about 2 inches long and are white with black stripes that run lengthwise down its body.
The striped pajama squid are one of the few organisms that are both venomous AND poisonous. They can inject tetrodotoxin with their tiny teeth, and they secrete a poisonous slime when threatened to deter predators. So don't let it bite you and don't bite it. Besides, it's super cute.
Girrlllll it’s BRAT winter (norovirus)
Glad you enjoyed!
Well, now you have a good reason to make tacos!
OMG Karen!!!
How the hell was the patient discharged on cefazolin for MRSA 🤯
🙌🏻
Ok, I snorted when I saw this 🐍
1/3 Last week we had the privilege of hosting @nephrotox.bsky.social Dr Josh King (Univ Of Maryland) as a Visiting Professor at Ochsner Medical Center. The visit started with a wonderful talk for our Nephro Dept on removal of toxins/poisons with extracorporeal therapies. Everybody was very engaged!
