Singing through the bloody mist
We’ll take our stand for this land
And the stranger in our midst

This was such a lovely, heartwarming series to stumble upon on iPlayer. Excellently produced with wonderful actors. Would highly recommend and will definitely be adding @ronanhession.bsky.social to my 2026 reading list!
Excellent article here. Our students are our greatest advocates. Counter proposals will be put forward, and we are supporting colleagues in Music, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies at Nottingham with their campaigns www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Really enjoyed sharing NALDIC’s views on the new Ofsted Inspection Toolkit’s focus on EAL pupils. A general consensus that it’s a step in the right direction, but that there’s a lot to do to fully support our EAL pupils and their educational outcomes. Thank you to every who attended and contributed!
Less than a month to go before NALDIC33 Conference! The hybrid conference focuses on ‘Reframing Assessment for Multilingual Classrooms’, supporting educators and researchers to explore effective assessment practices. Full programme and ticket options available here: naldic.org.uk/events-cpd/a...

we've been doing a survey of teachers' views on the current state of English teaching. We've had a great response but we'd love more, incl more from out of London. If you're an English teacher please do it. It doesn't take long! www.surveymonkey.com/r/EngTeach2025
In London, hate will never win.
Deeply shocked by Israel’s deliberate killing of the Al Jazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif, his colleague Mohammed Qreiqeh and cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal and Moamen Aliwa. Israel has now killed at least 186 journalists in this war.
Our colleagues Al Jazeera reporters Anas al-Sharif & Mohammed Qraiqeh, & cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal & Moamen Aliwa have been killed in a strike on a tent for journalists near Al Shifa hospital. They worked relentlessly through bombing & hunger to document this war. Please remember them

June reading underway. This was short, sweet and rather wonderful.
Other May reads…
This was utterly mesmerising and has stirred up such a strong urge to physically reconnect with nature. Stunning writing. Looking forward to enjoying it again soon via the documentary. @robgmacfarlane.bsky.social
Congratulations, Cate! What a brilliant achievement! 🎉
Andor Season 1 is just so damn good. Cannot wait to get stuck into Season 2 this weekend.
Really enjoyed this. A great alternative as a GCSE text.
Opinion from the FT's Editorial Board: 'The US and European countries that tout Israel as an ally that shares their values have issued barely a word of condemnation. They should be ashamed of their silence, and stop enabling Netanyahu to act with impunity.' www.ft.com/content/f5fd...
