26.1C the confirmed high at #London Heathrow, this is 12C above the 91-20 average daily max. So we claim the earliest 25C on record from 2017 by 1 day and more impressively the earliest 26C formerly of 1949 by 8 days.
A single bleeding heart flower (Lamprocapnos spectabilis) in vivid pink, hanging from a gently arching stem against a lush garden background. The flower has the plant's distinctive heart shape with a small white teardrop protruding from the bottom. Surrounding the flower are bright green, lobed leaves typical of the bleeding heart plant, along with broader grass-like leaves and small yellow flowers visible in the soft-focus background
I was upstairs on 3 back to back video meetings; my wife (currently on night shifts) sent me this from the garden 💓 #BleedingHeart #bloomscrolling
PS I have no idea if most of that green stuff should be weeded or left to blossom, we’re currently going for wild, cottage style, wildlife friendly!
what’s that place called? Looks gorgeous 😍
A cluster of bright yellow tulips fills the centre of the image, growing in a garden bed beside a paved path. Each tulip has slightly jagged edges on the petals, giving a soft, feathery outline. In the middle of each tulip bloom is a dark, almost black star-shaped centre with a pale yellow stamen.
early morning coffee in the garden without any news / social media, just birds + bees + cloudless blue skies.
Busy on the work laptop for a few hours, then logged on & saw collective global horror at a certain person’s TS post…..and so I’m back to #BloomScrolling on #TulipTuesday
Earth appearing as a bright crescent behind the Moon’s surface
OH. MY. GOD.
THIS IS THE EARTHSET PHOTO FROM ARTEMIS II. IM SPEECHLESS.
yellow tulips, wide open with black middles against green leaf background
Sunlit garden with a narrow winding brick path, surrounded by lush green shrubs and colourful flowers, leading toward a shaded fence at the back. Bright yellow flowers—large and open tulips—sit low near the path, while above them are leafy bushes with deep green and reddish leaves (red robin / photonia) Some shrubs have clusters of small orange blossoms, adding warm pops of colour. The foliage feels abundant and slightly wild, like a cottage garden. On your right, the mood is a bit lighter and airier.
Bank Holiday Monday - hope you’ve had a good one 💕

In spite of all the talk of Claude Code and Codex meaning the end of humans writing code, software job adverts are actually going up, according to @jburnmurdoch.ft.com's crunching of millions of job ads for this week's The AI Shift www.ft.com/content/7325...
Unique daily likers as a graph over the last year. It's down from about 1.6 million a day a year ago to 1.1 million a day now.
I tend to get dogpiled every time I say this but: as someone *who likes bluesky and benefits from being here* we have a problem.
The network is shrinking, not growing. It's shrinking a lot: only about 1.1m people a day even like a post. This time last year it was 1.6m.
Every part of the lily plant is deadly to cats - even drinking water that lilies were sitting in can kill them. Other popular spring flowers like tulips and daffodils can also make them very sick, but there are plenty of beautiful and safe alternatives.
Increasing confidence of warmth next week, warm southerly flows the warmer high pressure influence looks to be maintained for longer.
Upper air temperatures are signalled to be 10-12C above average. I think this could even entertain the mid 20s on Wednesday, exceptionally warm for early April.
any really good documentaries released lately on Netflix, Disney+ or BBC iPlayer? 📺

no longer officially #caturday but can’t possibly wait another 5 days to post girl-cat wistfully dreaming of the sunshine coming back , please, soon 🐾
