Dynamic brain mechanisms supporting salient memories under cortisol The stress-related hormone cortisol alters dynamic brain networks predicting memory and arousal to promote emotional memories.

How does cortisol tune brain networks to form strong emotional memories? Excited to share new work led by amazing former RA Flory Huang w collabs Rajita Sinha and @toddc.bsky.social #neuroskyence www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Positive affect amplifies integration within episodic memories in the laboratory and the real world - PubMed Emotional events hold a privileged place in our memories, differing in accuracy and structure from memories for neutral experiences. Although much work has focused on the pronounced differences in mem...

In light of recent emotionally salient events - wondering how these are remembered? I’m thrilled to share new work from the lab, led by lab manager Julia Pratt, capturing emotional memories *inside and outside the lab* and quantifying their accuracy & structure pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39870487/

I want to draw attention to a special issue that Lila Davachi and I put together to memorialize our friend and colleague Sarah DuBrow. It’s full of papers inspired by her work and her being from a group of collaborators, friends, and fans! Thanks @bradpostle.bsky.social for helping make this happen.

Thanks for the q! Some thoughts - cort resp can differ w challenge/threat appraisal, so would help to test multiple cort levels (we only used 1 dosage). Notable that our subj didn't "feel" stressed (or even know what pill they took!) so def need more work on stress affect/appraisal fx on hipp
