Our sincere thanks to Chris McElroy for bringing these issues to our attention.
Community feedback and data issue reports are invaluable to us, and we always strive to address them in a timely manner. We encourage users to continue sharing their findings.
We are pleased to announce the release of #EXIOBASE 3.9.6.
This is a minor update focused on bug fixes within the #employment accounts. The economic input-output tables and other accounts are unchanged.

Some much-needed analysis from Josh on the dreadful COP29 climate finance deal.
Full supply chain multipliers can be separated into scope 1/2/3 factors following the ghg-protocol. There are some data harmonization steps necessary, reach out to us if you want to know more.

We're proud to see EXIOBASE being widely used in research. Did you know it’s also perfect for corporate settings? Use it for spend-based emission factors, supply chain analysis, and many more. 📊 #Sustainability #CorporateResponsibility #exiobase #GHGProtocol #ClimateAction
Next application steps will be an analysis of uncertainty sensitivity of MRIO raw data for #footprint analysis (under review). We will then continue with publishing the HiTea data pipeline and some policy applications.
As part of the project we will improve on the MRIO analysis tool #pymrio and published an article describing the framework. #python

Ongoing projects connected to EXIOBASE: In HiTea (High Throughput Environmental Assessment Pipeline) we build an end-user friendly tool for sophisticated sensitivity and uncertainty analysis. Among others this will be applicable for #MRIO / EXIOBASE analysis.

After net zero CO2 emissions do you want to halt or continue global warming?
If you want to halt global warming, the point of getting to net zero emissions, then we better define it correctly!
The key is how “removals” are defined & the role humans play.

Did you know that the country converter #coco can be used to get a list of all countries and its correspondance to EXIO3 regions:
My estimates show Poland's CO₂ emissions from coal down 16.9% through October, continuing last year's declines as more and more renewables are installed.
Better energy and carbon footprints from #EXIOBASE
For the new version of this multiregional input-output database, we developed a new routine to estimate the energy use of detailed industries. It should give more accurate spend-based emissions factors. #scope3 emission es

COP29 is kicking off and the biggest issue on the agenda is climate finance.
Nearly 200 states must agree on a new goal to help developing nations tackle climate change. They disagree on nearly every issue

Lots of new people joining Bluesky in the clean energy and climate worlds over the last few days. I know there are starter packs, but also why don't people introduce themselves? Reply here to say hi!
The global carbon budget 2024 is coming out very soon.
Stay tuned 😉
The Global Carbon Budget 2024
* What will CO2 emissions do in 2024?
* Have CO2 emissions peaked?
* Did the land sink collapse in 2023?
* How big were the fires in 2023 & 2024?
All these questions and more to be answered on 13 November (1 week) #carbonbudget
In addition, we are working with the developers of #FABIO (a physical MRIO based on #FAO data) to connect EXIOBASE with an extended version of FABIO to further increase the resolution for #agriculture products and value chains.
Current projects connected to #EXIOBASE : In the #EU #Horizon project Bamboo bamboo-horizon.eu we connect EXIOBASE with new/updated Impact Assessment methods (LC-Impact, Globio, #GLAM) to analyse global value chain impacts of non-food #bioproducts , in particular for #biodiversity .
Latest NASA global temperature data.
Earth has never been hotter since Homo sapiens (we) discovered agriculture in the early Holocene. Likely even since the Eemian interglacial 120.000 years ago.
Fossil coal, oil and gas emissions caused it.
We need to stop making it worse.
We can if we want to.
EXIOBASE 3 provides a time series of environmentally extended multi-regional input‐output (EE MRIO) tables ranging from 1995 to a recent year for 44 countries (28 EU member plus 16 major economies)/ five RoW regions.
