A little bit further on
Posts by Simone
I'm not getting much chance to garden so far this year.
The alpine trough is doing its best to keep my spirits up
Look at this perfect little Pulsatilla
It may be Easter but the Christmas crafting prep continues.
More sentiments, snowflakes and stars.
A little each week is starting to add up. ๐
Thank you.
Stunning. I love them

A crochet student generously gave me this needlepoint kit after I had commented that I wanted to do some different textile crafts this year
I'm enjoying the differences in the technique & materials to cross-stitch I've done in the past but it's definitely a work in daylight project

I finished this last January.
It's taken me until this afternoon to finish typing up the pattern ๐งถ
My mum's notes are nearly as old as I am!
Another wet Sunday morning means more die cutting
On to sentiments today. Still using up old card stock so working in white, silver and green.

A small drawing of purple tulips. An original art work, please note that the frame is not included. Colour pencil on white acid free artist watercolour paper (postcard size). Approximately 4 by 6 inches (10.16 x 15.24 cm) will fit into a standard 4 by 6 inch photo frame.

And it's done, at least until we have more t-shirts to cut up
It's a little wonky but I'm happy as it's my first attempt.

Spring clean fever hit Sunday morning so this weekend's due cutting was postponed until today.
Tried out the snowflake dies with white, cream & silver card. The residents are going to love them, I need to make lots more
First afternoon in the garden.
Started with 2 straightforward areas.
Firstly the fruit trees. I added to the weed- suppressant cardboard and topped up the soil in the planters. Not sure if the grape vine survived but the kiwi has
Then I tidied the strawberry planters.

Afternoon all. I decided this morning I needed to see nature whilst I work so I've set up my little fold-out table by the patio door that looks out onto the garden. So far I've seen a family of bluetits, a pair of wood pigeons, a pair of goldfinches, a possible female chaffinch and a robin. ๐
#Garden2026 continues with harvesting some purple flowering broccoli
It originally flowered in October ๐คทโโ๏ธ but luckily has flowered again when it should do.
A saxifrage is flowering in the alpine pots and my wood anemone has made an appearance. I keep it in a pot so I don't dig it up when it dies back
Fantastic news in the UK today - the government has apparently ditched its plan to force creatives to 'opt out' if they don't want AI companies training on their life's work.

It's a miracle!
I have been ruthless and donated a lot of the "just keep it in case" craft materials.
And yes I still have two very big Really Useful Boxes full of craft behind me BUT there used to be three and I've got my die cutter AND small loom in the cupboard!
Ok that gets you a follow ๐
Another week of Christmas die cutting. Today was all about trees.
Why start so early?
In November I will have 17 card making classes with around 6 people per class.
They will want to make more than one card each....

The start of #Garden2026
It's our 22nd wedding anniversary next week and the hellebore he bought me for it a few years back is back into flower ๐ฉท
It's in a pot on our stairs so I can get to admire the owners every time I walk up
This month's craft classes are Easter themed and our second project is painting wooden cut outs
Not a bad attempt if I say so myself
#NotAnArtist
Playing with die cutting again today. Trying out different card stock with new dies.
I plan to make the embellishments for this year's Christmas card making class so I need to make a start so it doesn't get to be too onerous
After lunch I made a Mother's Day card, luckily Mum loves sludgy green
Pile of t-shirts, blue, green, grey & faded black
7 balls of t-shirt yarn
9 completed "rounds" of oval rug. Black inner, grey outer. Cream cotton securing it
It was time to clear out some old t-shirts. Rather than stick them in the rag bag I've turned them into yarn. ๐งถ
I dug out some cotton DK in my stash so I've started on a rag rug.
No pattern, just working out the increases as I go
