Meticulously planned center line Moon transit, shot yesterday ๐๐ฆ #astrophotography
Hey Geffo, good job capturing the ghost. Look at the two bright stars in the center and you will see the little bugger
#IC405 The Flaming Star Nebula
Spectacular nebula illuminated by central star AE Auriga. Collected 6h of data over 2 nights using a dual narrowband filter on my small refractor.

M45 The Pleiades, aka "The Seven Sisters" or what I like: "Subaru", taken 01/07/2026
The open star cluster is only 444 light years from earth which makes it the nearest Messier object to earth.

The Rosette Nebula is an H II region in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way at a distance of approx. 5000 light years. The Nebula measures roughly 130 light years in diameter. The bright stars in the center excite the atoms in the nebula, causing them to emit radiation themselves.
Reedit of my Rosettte Nebula taken last February: Using Veralux HyperMetric Stretch in Siril 1.4 really helps me bringing out more contrast.

The Soul Nebula #IC1848 is an emmission nebula located in Cassiopeia. Image was shot 12/27/2025 using SV220 narrowband filter with 2h of integration.
The Heart Nebula #IC1805 is an emmission nebula located in Cassiopeia, next to the Soul Nebula. Image was shot 12/26/2024 using SV220 narrowband filter with 2.5h of integration. Reedit with Siril 1.4, using Veralux HyperMetric Stretch.
The Heart cannot be without the Soul!
So here is the Soul Nebula I shot on 12/27/2025 in narrowband and stretched with Veralux HyperMetric Stretch with a reedit of my Heart Nebula from a year ago.

NGC1499 California Nebula is an emmission nebula in Perseus, excited by nearby star Menkhib (upper right). Shot in narrowband on 12/26/2025 and stretched with Veralux HyperMetric Stretch.

Finally, a break in the clouds to catch me a new project. And what a beauty she is: the Triangulum Galaxy @ 3 mio ly distance she is our neighbour in the local group.

Nice shot! How do you manage to catch / track the ISS?
M81 Bode's Galaxy, M82 Cigar Galaxy and in the right bottom corner a third galaxy UGC 5398. One hour full spectrum combined with three hours of H alpha to emphasize the red hydrogen in M81 and M82.
Kicking off galaxy season with M81 Bode's Galaxy (right) and M82 Cigar Galaxy (left). Light that travelled 12 million light years to be caught on a 1 inch sensor. What are the odds?

Hi Marco, this looks like a part of M16 Eagle Nebula. Next to the Pillars of Creation
details on used equipment and software are in the Alt text
yes, H stands for light in Hydrogen Alpha wavelength, O for light in Oxygen III wavelength. These are wavelengths collected with narrowband filters.

The Rosette Nebula from last night. Got creative while processing OSC dual narrowband Ha & OIII and tried out some variations for composition with Pixel Math in Siril. This one is made with:
R: 1.7*H-O
G: ((H)^~(H))*H+~((H)^~(H))*O
B: O
Function in G aka Power of Inverted Pixels.

Tadpole Nebula in HOO pallette which tends to be dominated by the H-alpha in red channel.
Tadpole Nebula with dynamic factor for green channel as described on thecoldestnights.com in tutorial "Dynamic narrowband combinations with PixelMath". Shifts the colours towards SHO look.
My 2nd narrowband project: the Tadpole Nebula #ic410. Thin high clouds took away a lot of the signal. But processed the data anyway, twice, for the fun of it.
