Next month, the newly renamed Shorebird Bakery will head to new digs farther northeast, where Sea Wolf Bakers founder Jesse Schumann will take a crack at baking croissants.

Seems like the Legislature and Governor will do anything to deflect their failure to adequately fund public schools
PLAYOFFS!!!!!
The Blazers are returning to the postseason for the first time since the 2020-21 season!
ICE Banned from County Property Today, the Board passed my Sanctuary County amendment that extends the County’s ban on ICE presence to all County facilities, including parking lots. ICE has no place in Multnomah County. The dangerous and deadly actions by ICE are a threat to our community.

Every time I see a Terra Firma truck or ad I can’t help but remember the half million lamprey that company killed near Roseburg. That guy should be in jail

Can you be president of the United States? Yes. But more importantly, can you be a better president than Donald Trump? Most certainly. #MultCoD1
After President Donald Trump suggested people with learning disabilities should not be president, Multnomah County Commissioner and disability rights advocate Meghan Moyer clapped back.
Preschool for All is rapidly growing. Soon tuition-free preschool will be available to every 3 and 4 year old in MultCo, saving families an average of $18,600 per child.
We stand ready to provide our expertise so the success of PFA can expand to all of Oregon’s current and future young families.
When a bill is posted for a work session, the amendments should be posted as soon as possible. A committee may not take action on an amendment unless is has been posted for four hours in a House committee or one hour in a Senate committee.
There’s no requirement for amendments in a hearing.
I had to leave for an event just minutes before this. The crowd was full of kids, elders, and dogs, all peaceful, marching with union banners. The plumes that I saw went up from a distance are just bonkers.
And this is why say ABOLISH. They are galvanizing the resistance with this violence.
Clyde was my childhood hero too! I named my cat after him 🏀😻
image of Commissioner Singleton with a quote. The quote reads: State-funded violence through federal agents needs to end. This kind of immigration enforcement and ICE activity must stop. I know many people are scared right now. We have people dying in detention, agents killing people in the streets, and communities left devastated. My heart goes out to so many communities. The way that federal agents are behaving is unacceptable. I encourage folks to turn their outrage into action. In times like these, community is critical. What a game, man. Football is the fucking best.
Also fuck ICE
I agree with Candace. And I am NOT anti-policing (to the dismay of many on this platform, I acknowledge). But this cannot be reformed. This cannot be fixed. ICE has become the federal administration’s brown shirts.
Abolish ICE.
I am sickened and angry about the escalating violence our community continues to suffer at the hands of this authoritarian federal regime and their ICE bullies. Time and time again, we take to our streets with non-violent protests only to be met with federally funded violence and physical harm. People in our communities are not escalating this violence, they are. The shooting of human beings is not acceptable. Enough is enough. ICE is not welcome here.

An image featuring a formal statement from the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners regarding a federal shooting in East Portland.Statement from Board of Commissioners on federal shooting in East Portland: What we can say now is enough is enough. The terror and violence ICE is causing in our neighborhoods must end now. The County will not stand by as the federal government attacks our neighbors. We stand united in our support for our immigrant and refugee neighbors. Just this morning, we unanimously voted to extend an emergency declaration in response to the ongoing harm caused by ICE activity, and we will keep showing up every way we can. We know County residents are angry. We are angry. Portlanders have a proud tradition of opposing injustice through nonviolent protest, and we encourage our community to keep showing up as they have been to oppose this horrific violence. We must stand together.
BOARD STATEMENT: This afternoon, federal Customs and Border Protection agents shot two people in East Portland. We are in close coordination w/ our government partners & law enforcement to learn everything we can, and encourage patience in sharing information to ensure accuracy. MORE: bit.ly/3L79IkZ
