I think Dewsong can salvage their annual Madame Tart Kiwi Festival. Well, at least they asked us to perform for the opening ceremony tomorrow night. The Troupe will have to talk it over and decide after everyone gets back from the Bathhouse. It will mean two more days here but Fame beckons.

Image of a diary entry, it reads: Day 16 Village of Honeytower Wow it’s hot here! And the dust! A good wind just kicks it right up. Trilby keeps muttering about herbal teas, obviously worried about singing tonight. Sassun handed out brightly colored scarves to help with the dust. It turns out that Clem knows the mayor of Honeytower, so they got together to catch up. Frog-Pockets spent that time chatting with the mayor’s aid, Leeloo Multipas, and learned some helpful things. A year-long drought seems to be the cause of all this heat and dust. Leeloo thinks a hermit and known fallen priest of Fontus with a grudge named Jedlee may be the one causing the drought. I’m glad we have Nell and Frog-Pockets with us. With all of us working together, I think we can puzzle out a way to help everyone here.

We woke just before dawn and walked the gently swaying rope bridges of Xanadu. With their brightly colored ribbons fluttering in the breeze, these bridges serve as the streets and pathways of this Village. The night’s fresh snow was only just starting to melt when our breakfast arrived. It was a delicious hot rice porridge, the perfect fare to chase the frosty tone from our bones. The beauty of this place is what traveling the Road is about. Such moments are worth the days spent away from home. I can see traveling for a long time to come.

Image of a diary entry, it reads: Day 4 The Road We needed a shortcut on the Road, so we tried out a black market W.A.N.D. That was stupid! Trilby activated it, I felt everything lurch and the Road started twisting under foot. It was several minutes before I had my stomach back. By then a horrific Doll Swarm was flowing out of the Mist and Darkness and onto the Road. Frog-Pockets used a Poppet Tamer Spell to quell the fray, but then an Aether Storm rolled over us, and all we could do was run. Now we are stuck on the Road with night falling fast. At least Sassun is a Fort Builder, otherwise we'd be as good as dead. I can hear something outside... breathing deep, ragged breaths. Sassun told us to be quiet, as any noise may break the Fort's veil. This whole thing has gone sideways, hard. Fortuna willing, the Fort will hold until dawn and we’ll live to see another day. If this is the last I write, please know I died doing what I love: travelling the Road with my Troupe and seeing the Wyrd.

This is a screenshot of a notes file. The text seen follows. Fade in... It seems the Road is in a surrealist mood today. It's lined by ranks of trees like set pieces, wood or cardboard cutouts with paper leaves, fading into Mist and Darkness. Overhead dark billowing clouds of fluff-over-plaster sway in front of a yellow circle with red ribbons flapping at its edges. The Road beneath your heels appears like smooth stone with painted lines that seem to represent cobblestones. Up ahead is a crooked signpost, it proclaims "Applewood Landing" and points to the left where a pitch black tunnel opening can be seen. From the Road behind you comes a frightful ruckus, a Swarm of Scarecrow burst into view. They emit a collective chorus of undulating wails. Their pursuit sends wave cold dread dancing over your gut and up your spine.

Just so you know, bubble blowing is a skill in the Wyrd.

This wip is concept art for our game. The image shows a towering stump. One so big, part of it has been hollowed out and turned into a grand stage. The red curtains are raised and spotlights brighten the stage. An orchestra pit waits, empty, in front of this stage. Upon the stage are four figures, one at an upright piano, another stands behind a tall drum, while the other two sing and dance in a shower of magical sparkles. Two exits can be seen, one on either side of the stage. This stage is found in the Village of Everstead, a place many traveling performers call home in their off season. It is also a place of learning where young Wyrdlings go to learn how to be a performer and follow their dream of walking the Road. It is said enchanted acoustics allow someone speaking in a conversational tone at center stage, to be clearly heard 65 paces into the crowd.

In Everstead, just off Jupiter street, sits a field surrounding the Grand Stump. This legendary stage has been the off-season practice stage for generations of performers in the Wryd.
