One of thousands of funny lines from All Fours by Miranda July.

"The fucking Quakers. They'd invented chocolate bars and maxipads and now this."

The efficacy test. We're proving that even the most painful memories can successfully be severed, right? To what end? Is it a coup where we find out Lumon have secretly been implanting chips in everyone and they're just waiting to flip the switch to sever everyone and just nobody realises?

One of my biggest is around place and what activates the chip. We know the severed floor and birthing cabins do it, but what is happening exactly? Can it be recreated elsewhere?

Very much enjoyed the Severance finale, BUT it has thrown up so many more questions....

3. Cobel invented the whole thing and left her plans in a tatty notebook she kept hidden in a weird underground snow bunker for decades?

2. Helena saying Hannah instead of Gemma at the restaurant. What's that about.

1. Burt. What's going on with the timeline. Has he been at Lumon for 10 or 20yrs? Did Fields slip?

Also I have so many questions about Severance. Gonna lay them out here, feel free to chip in...

Finished Orbital. What an achingly beautiful book. Made me feel equal parts insignificant and undeniably precious. Now onto some classic Isherwood. An author that I confess I've never read πŸ˜¬πŸ™ˆ

Rewatching Dawson's Creek and realising Mike White of White Lotus fame was one of the writers. A crossover ep would be EPIC.

Is anyone part of a writing group? Thinking of either joining one or starting one, but I kinda like writing alone and not talking to people so not sure where to go with that.

I hadn't even considered the whole AI thing! I'm enjoying being back on Google docs, purely because I can write on my phone, laptop and tablet so easily. I'm sure I'll change my mind when I'm further into this editing process and I'm tearing my hair out though πŸ˜‚

Am I right in thinking that a big part of David Lynch's storytelling revolved around the idea that after we detonated our first nuclear weapon that the world was never the same, like something evil was released as a result? Or did I make that up? Either way, I've always liked that as a concept.

The story is so bad. Dialogue awful. I love Keanu, but jeez, if it wasn't for his phenomenal hair he may as well be a well-oiled cardboard cutout. And he kills 77 people mainly because they stole his car and killed his dog?

Watching John Wick for the first time ever and I have absolutely no idea why I made that decision. What am I even watching?

Getting a rejection 6 months after submitting something to a lit mag really does sting doesn't it.

Been playing around again with Scrivener vs Ulysses because I'm a multiple device kind of guy and it was all just getting on my nerves having different versions flying around the place.

I think I've found my way back to Google docs? Is that an ok thing to do for writing fiction?

Onto the next. Really enjoyed Real Life, so hoping this lives up to the hype.

Also, thoughts on The Vegetarian are incoming. Just in case anyone is interested πŸ˜‰

❛ One should never write down or up to people, but out of yourself.

Author Christopher Isherwood, who died #OTD in 1986.

Thanks so much! Bridport is always on my list, but great to have some others at different times of the year too.

Very true! And yes you're right. Irish, not UK. Just trying to steal a bit of Irish literary clout I guess πŸ™ƒ
