I've had good success with their seeds and they have a large catalog. I like to buy locally as well

I got my opuntia from a Fb marketplace encounter. I was buying something else and saw the pads and commented on them and they said please take them all ๐Ÿ˜„. I am a fan of prairie moon though, they have some hard to find seeds

Do it! Amelanchier is one of my favorites. Fall color, berries and delightful little flowers. It is susceptible to cedar rust though and I missed out on the berries this year :/

I pre-ordered some bare root Castanea pumila or Allegheny Chinquapin trees for spring. Anyone else have experience growing them?

I'm torn between my love of prairie grass and my love of trees. I have about 30 trees on my .3 acre and some will eventually shade out my pocket prairie so I'm enjoying it while it lasts

This is asclepias syriaca (common milkweed) that I rescued from my neighbor's lawn

Symphyotrichum lanceolatum or white- panicle aster. This one showed up on its own when we built our pond. It tends to colonize disturbed areas. I'm hoping to catch some photos of frost on these seed heads
