Quick and dirty deformable snow system using UE5.4 Nanite Tessellation! Incredibly powerful—I was able to create this little proof of concept in no time at all. Excited to see where Nanite Tessellation will be in a few months; still needs some optimization to be production-ready! #ue5 #snow #nanite

😂 I love this.

“The UX of LEGO Interface Panels”, a look at the fictional interfaces printed on 2×2 sloped bricks.

One of the most overlooked features in Unreal 5.5 is Instanced Actors. It runs Mass, an entity component system, under the hood until you run a trace or overlap against the entity. Unreal invisibly hydrates the entity into an actor and returns a reference as if it had always been an actor. #UETips

I really doubt that this was made using AI.. but what if it was? It looks as awesome as the rest of the show! :)

This would be a cool little mat for blockouts. Wonder if we can make it work for non-cubes a well?.. :)

This honnestly just looks like a pipeline/tools position. I think people might be reading into this a bit too much.

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

There really should be an option to disable it.. Fab will hopefully get better with time *fingers crossed*

Who said anything about splash art? I’m getting a little tired of seeing these posts.

If you actually read the job requirements, it looks more like a pipeline/tools role.

Artists and designers will only be more and more important. GenAI is just a fancy auto-correct; not a replacement for a writer.

Bluesky, I bestow unto thee, a story about Unreal Engine that should not be buried inside of the Unreal Engine Forums. Please let your Unreal Engine using friends know of this travesty. It's too good.

Using AI to automate repetitive tasks will free up time for artists to be creative.

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

I disagree, we have a lot of artists that use it well. Like the tool it is.

AI “art” will stay here forever. Better incorporate it into your workflow where helpful. We find it especially helpful for more broad world design, quick ideas and less important concept art.

AI art is pretty good for what it is, but it’s not a replacement for a designer. Good for concepts though.

I agree. A scripting language should not have hard asserts. Currently, my implementation triggers a blueprint breakpoint only in PIE. I should call them something else…

I do however think that it is quite common for blueprint to end up in wired comditions, depending on genre ofc.

A grey and white table titled: Formulas for Photoshop blending modes

What follows are rows of blend modes, including their forumlas, their commutavity, and additional info.

They moved them to their new service Fab, and made them free to grab until the end of 2024. once you add them to your account you own them under a personal license for the life of your account.

Still kinda blows about Quixel but at least they made them available freely till the end of the year.

While it's not entirely comparable to ZBrush, it feels like it would be good enough in 90% of cases :)
