Congratulations to Sharon Black, whose poem 'Baggies' has won the new @poetrysociety.bsky.social Tobias Hill Poetry Prize. 'Baggies' was chosen from all poems published in the Membersβ Poems competition from 2024-2025.
I selected 'Baggies' in Summer 2024 and write about it here in Poetry News.

Struggling with the cognitive dissonance of witnessing genocide through a phone screen. Can't stop thinking about @carolynforche.bsky.social's poem 'The Boatman' when we read in Newcastle over ten years ago.

Great news, congratulations Jo! @joclement.co.uk
Hope to see you in June :) The biccies are on me!
Oooh! What an exciting collaboration this is between @themerl.bsky.social & the brilliant @joclement.co.uk - whose poetry collection Outlandish, I love. So much excitement from a museum, its people, reach & stories, I need to go & have a biscuit or three.
A good question. 'Roma', 'Romany' and 'Travellers' are three distinct ethnic groups. There are more. I'm a British Gypsy. Within all the groups people will interchangeably use or reject the word as a self-identifying ethnic marker. Depends entirely on the individual and the context.
Cheers for fielding this reply Sarah. I like to see 'Gypsy' reclaimed too! Good to connect here :)
a wonderful and exciting Fellowship! congratulations, @joclement.co.uk!
Weβre thrilled to announce that @joclement.co.uk is joining us as our new MERL Fellow!
Jo will produce poems and videos responding to the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller materials in our collection, while enhancing the accuracy of our labels.
Welcome Jo!

Suzannah, we ARE stylish babies though!
Amy Key wrote a brill Substack about kid's clothes recently. I always pick things like this up and say how much I want the texture, shape and general whimsy in grown-up sizes.
A new bop from the coolest bean.
Found a great piece on Simon Armitage's Gawaining in Green Letters.

Oh no I didn't notice this but I better go in to check tonight! I hope this isn't happening to everyone. Makes it harder to make sure you've got every book. More tactics I assume.
I'd say get the Plugin and Calibre because they work together. You'll need to convert the files from the original format into ePUB if you want them to work elsewhere. The original format is for Kindle only. If you're staying Kindle, it wouldn't matter.
Make sure you download the DeDRM_tools plugin and add the serial number in Calibre. I also had to restart my computer to get everything to update. Surprised how well it has worked! Let me know if you get stuck, I'll see if I can help :)
It was a bit confusing at first but relatively intuitive. You can even convert the books to PDF, which is super helpful for me.
