as I'm reading through this book, I'm seeing what concept art ended up being used for this, and interestingly enough I haven't really seen the art of chanticleer and rico rooster anywhere before so I wonder how much more art exists for chancticleer that hasn't been seen... 🤔

and yes, Don Bluth's rock-a-doodle is also inspired by this concept art work 😌🙏

soooo there was a project some artists at Disney (Marc Davis/Ken Anderson) were working on for years (40s-60s) but the project never rly picked up... chanticleer! I've been obsessed w/ this concept art since I first saw it, and I'm glad the art got published in some way at least, but... 🥲

the book I ordered came in today, and it's an ex-library book which is really fun to look at... the last time this book was signed out was 1998, that means this book has just been sitting around in storage for YEARS 🥲 poor thing, I'll take care of you now...

I don't think the quality of the webcomic matters (in my opinion I love your art style and work ethic) but I also think it's impressive that you've continued to work on a project for a total of two decades, even if the celebration isn't extravagant I think it's still worth mentioning...

and then I spent the whole day taking screenshots from saludos amigos, 3 cabs, melody time, and some comics... all so I could write abt how much I love the body language and dynamic between donald/josé/panchito, ahh... 💕

but I've lost 5 years of my life bcuz of that thinking and now I have to try and pick myself back up while my confidence in myself and ability is completely shattered... but we'll endure, it's never too late to take another new step in life, esp when you have ppl to talk to and support you

it's easier to speak more on discord, but I completely understand the feeling... it's easy to "settle" and assume what's most comfortable is for the best esp when it comes to a job, bcuz "smth is better than nothing"! (cont.)

I've heard good things abt busuu! there was a website I used back in highschool similar called lang-8, you wrote journal entries in the language you wanted to learn and native speakers would assist you, and you were able to help others in your native language too en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lang-8....
