Since the ceasefire agreement on Oct. 10, 2025, the #GazaStrip is divided by a dangerous, ambiguous and ever-expanding “yellow line” controlled by the Israeli military. One side of the line is under Israeli military control pushing people of #Gaza into the remaining 42 per cent.

1/7 - The New START treaty - last remaining nuclear arms limitation treaty - expired today. Russia and the United States have so far failed to prepare a replacement treaty. At best, the two may agree voluntarily not to exceed the limits for a while.

We Need to Talk About How We Talk About 'AI' | TechPolicy.Press We share a responsibility to create and use empowering metaphors rather than misleading language, write Emily M. Bender and Nanna Inie.

Anthropomorphizing language conceals the limitations of AI, promoting misplaced trust. @emilymbender.bsky.social & @nannainie.bsky.social suggest focusing on a system’s functionalities: instead of saying a model is “good at” something, say what it is “good for." www.techpolicy.press/we-need-to-t...

I’ve been badly neglecting this platform for some time, for a variety of reasons. Thanks to @awarnes.bsky.social for the encouragement to rectify that. From last Friday’s march in Minneapolis, prior to ICE’s murder of Alex Pretti.

It doesn’t matter if Alex Pretti had a gun Nonviolence is a double standard.

ICE, CBP, and Border Patrol have proven themselves incapable of obeying the law, let alone enforcing it for others; unable to self-soothe, let alone keep the peace. Why must ordinary people be asked to stay calm and not upset them? www.theverge.com/policy/86745...

Wow.

Anduril’s planned autonomous weapons factory in rural Ohio is projected to destroy/reroute wetlands and waterways - so the Ohio EPA went ahead and approved a “lowering of water quality” for the area.

In order to protect “economic considerations”

The Long, Lethal History of Trump's 'Invasion' Rhetoric In 2018, Trump began to routinely describe immigration as an ‘invasion.’ That rhetoric has fueled deadly violence for nearly two centuries.

"Trump and his allies are tapping into a grim American tradition whose history predates and inspires modern iterations of both the white genocide myth and the great replacement theory. For some two centuries, invasion rhetoric has fueled nativist vigilantism and anti-immigrant state violence."

Screenshot of three basic floor plans, each for one level of a three level control room concept. Ground floor has desks for 25-30 people, next level has an office, and the top level has yet another office. Some notes on each level indicate what could be beyond the space like building entrance, more offices, cafeteria, etc.

Have you guys ever discussed the Norwegian miniseries "The Heavy Water War"? It's based on the efforts to sabotage Nazi heavy water production in occupied Norway.

The Last Columbia Protester in ICE Detention Leqaa Kordia, a Palestinian woman who has lived in the U.S. since 2016, has been detained in Texas for the past eight months.

Leqaa Kordia—not a Columbia student but “a simple Palestinian girl,” as she describes herself—is the last remaining campus protester still in detention from the Trump Administration’s crackdown on pro-Palestinian demonstrators in the U.S.

Sharm El-Sheikh Shows That the US Has Learned Nothing From Gaza Palestinans are expected to accept the same deal that led to October 7: permanent subjugation under the guise of “prosperity.”

New from me @thenation.com: the farce at Sharm El-Sheikh displays the delusion that led to October 7 and the genocide Israel pursued after it — that the U.S. regional coalition can pursue normalization over the heads of the Palestinians, who are supposed to accept permanent subjugation.
