I cannot tell you how apoplectic with rage it makes me that pharma successfully made atypical antipsychotics the most widely Rx'd class of off-label Rxs for KIDS and then, given the entirely predictable ++ in tardive dyskinesia, started selling another GD drug for that horrifying side effect.

Hoffman is just not cutting it. These issues go back to last season. Yes, it’s like the Jays bats are in the dead-ball era but there is a pattern to Hoffman not being able to hold or absolutely blowing the lead.
sounds like it's at least a *little* accessible then
How much pain is too much?
In 2026, that's still being decided by a scale of one to ten.
The biggest barrier to pain treatment isn't the pain. It's being believed.

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.
Stephen Lewis was a gift to the world. I remember hearing him speak probably 20 years ago or so at an event where he talked about his work in HIV/AIDS. I have never been touched by a speaker as much as I was that night and never again since. May his memory be for a blessing.
Thanks to Dr Markow for having me on the podcast! It was great to chat about all things chronic pain, including research that looks to predict, diagnose, and help treat chronic pain through biomarkers and AI -- and some of ethical questions it raises.

What a fantastic opportunity for someone who is interested in public health ethics!
I'm honoured and thrilled to be a co-applicant on this vital project. Ethics is not an afterthought to harm reduction. It is foundational, shaping our questions, values, and community impact. Excited to bring bioethics and stigma content expertise and collaborate with our community partners.
Public Health Sciences Associate Dean Carol Strike received $2 million from the CIHR to launch a national harm reduction network for people who use substances. “This project… builds on decades of partnership, innovation and capacity building…” 🔗 https://ow.ly/61sX50YxNE2 #DLSPH #PublicHealth
It was a pleasure taking part in this Purple Public Health episode with Dr Salma Abdalla on public health errors. From mistakes during the opioid epidemic to policy decisions, we discussed why things go wrong in public health and why learning from these errors matters

To defund them in the face of that evidence is to subordinate health outcomes to political convenience. This is not what a just society does. 5/5
From a public health ethics and evidence-based standpoint, we know these sites reduce overdose deaths, connect people to care, and generate no credible evidence of community harm. 4/
Respect for persons demands that we recognize people who use drugs as human beings deserving of care and safety, not as problems to be managed out of sight. 3/
Many people are members of communities that have historically been abandoned, and harmed, by the institutions meant to protect them.
Ending provincial funding is not a neutral act. It is a choice. 2/
Ending provincial funding for supervised consumption sites is an ethical and policy failure. This decision disproportionately harms people who are already multiply disadvantaged by factors such as poverty, racism, trauma, and systemic neglect. 1/

"You need to finish reviewing scholarship applications" said Frog. "You need to write reference letters."
"But this morning is @coffeeoutside.bsky.social, and tonight is The Librarians at the Metro Cinema for Right to Read Week!" I will do it all tomorrow!" cried Toad.
“Your grant needs to be written,” said Frog. “You need to respond to your emails.”
“Tomorrow!” cried Toad. “I will do it all tomorrow!”
