#MichaelMovie is for the fans, as there are moments that make you want to dance in the aisle, and while Jaafar Jackson is great , once you get past the feel good moments, the movie becomes shallow, and lacks any humanity, and never reaches the nights of its subject.

Normal - The Cinemen One of my favorite things to watch is when an actor changes lanes and starts doing something different from what they’re known for. Names like Chris Pratt and Will Smith come to mind, and now you can ...

Bob Odenkirk, action star , just keeps working , Normal is funny , brutal, and a fresh spin on a familiar formula. Not perfect , but Odenkirk makes it a blast. my review 👇 #NormalMovie

The Mummy looks great , but for all it does visually , it really doesn’t do much more than that ,as it lacks in scares and the narrative is spotty at best , and while it is a nasty movie , in the best ways , its over stuff runtime and other faults make it hard to get behind.

Thrash - The Cinemen In 1984, the Scorpions gave us “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” which might be the only time a hurricane has ever been described as a good thing—at least in the right context. In reality, hurricanes mean flooding, destruction, and chaos. Then in 2019, Crawl added a new layer of fear by throwing alligators into the mix. Apparently, there are levels to hurricane nightmares. Now Tommy Wirkola is here to raise the stakes even higher with...

Thrash delivers exactly what it promises- hurricanes, sharks, and chaos. Easy, entertaining fun. My review 👇 #Thrash

Hamlet - The Cinemen “To be, or not to be: that is the question.” Those words have been around for over 400 years, and somehow they’ve never lost their meaning. For actors, Shakespeare’s work is full of moments like that—lines that can define a performance. And as someone in the audience, I’ve always enjoyed seeing how different filmmakers interpret his plays on screen. So it’s always a good day when we get a new take—like Aneil Karia’s version of...

Riz Ahmed goes all in with Hamlet-raw,intense, and hard to look away from. The film isn’t always visually smooth , but the performance alone makes it worth seeing. My review👇 #Hamlet

You, Me & Tuscany - The Cinemen I like a pretty wide range of movies, but when people ask me what my favorite genres are, I usually say horror, thrillers, and dramas. One genre I don’t always mention is romantic comedies. But being a bit of a romantic myself, I can’t help but gravitate towards them—especially when they work. The issue with rom-coms is that they can feel a little too formulaic. Most of them follow the same basic path. That doesn’t...

It’s formulaic,sure- but You, Me and Tuscany still works. Charming leads, beautiful setting , and just enough heart to win you over. My review 👇#YouMe&Tuscany

Faces of Death is a rather satisfying reboot and while
It is a little light on the gore , it still delivers a visceral experience that has some effective moments that really has a lot to say about what social media has done to our society. #FacesofDeath

The Drama has a cloud of unease that hangs around it, though most of its runtime and while the movie never goes fully into its premise , it is bound to set up some fabulous conversations after the credits roll. #TheDrama

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is filled with nostalgic references , and an all star cast , as the movie reminds me of a jelly doughnut, with too much jelly , sure it gets messy , but in the end you are still eating a jelly doughnut, and that’s a hell of a lot of fun .

I did now expect Mike&Nick&Nick&Alice to work , but does it ever . This film really is a blast and balances the fun and action very well, but what makes it work so well is the cast, but for me Jimmy Tato steals the show . #MikeNickNickAlice

Pretty Lethal has some pretty impressive action scenes , there ultimately doesn’t feel like the movie has much direction and lacks really any foundation to support what it wants to be  ,and instead of something flawless, we get we get something that mostly feels out of stepped #PrettyLethal

They Will Kill You - The Cinemen I’ve been pretty vocal with friends lately about how the whole “one person vs. an army” action movie trend is starting to feel a bit overdone. The funny thing is, I love a great action movie—The Raid:...

They Will Kill You is messy, violent, and ridiculously entertaining. Zazie Beetz =total badass. my review 👇

Beast Race (Corrida dos Bichos) SXSW Review - The Cinemen Every day, when you turn on the news or scroll through social media, it’s hard not to feel like we’re on the brink of something big—and not in a good way. Movies, of course, have been imagining the en...

Beast Race is bold, action-packed, and easy to get wrapped up in. The races are electric and the world-building really shines. My review 👇 #SXSW #FilmReview

Undertone is a slow burn , that really pays with its final act ,this movie is simple and I love everything that Tuason squeezes out of this as he maximizes the sound design to take you to dark places , and making you afraid of the dark just a little more .

What if the “college experience” isn’t about partying-but figuring yourself out ? Poetic license surprised me , funny, warm, and more heartfelt than I expected. Leslie Mann is fantastic. My review 👇 #SXSW #FilmTwitter #MovieReview

I love the effort put into And Her Body Was Never Found , and it really is something to go completely blind into , and it is filled with tension and is such a unique film, that is is sure to leave you your own questions in the end. #sxsw

Odenkirk shows who’s boss in Ben Wheatley’s latest Normal, as it’s as funny as it’s bloody , and while there might not be much depth , the fun time and the action , lead to a breezy good time at the movies. #sxsw #Normalmovie

The premise really stands out in Wishful Thinking , and thanks to Pullman and Hawke are spectacular and when you add the the comedic beats, you get something that is quite fresh and charming ,but it’s the romance that stays with you the most #sxsw

Chasing Summer is a fun throwback rom-com that while its narrative can be all over the place at times , works because Shlesinger is so damn charming and funny in it, and proves you can still and a fresh feeling story about going home . #sxsw

They Will Kill You is equally fun and weird, as Beetz gives quite the physical performance, and while you see the Influences of Samurai movies, it makes its own path , and delivers one hell if a cinema ride #sxsw #TheyWillKillyou

Leviticus uses horror to explore something deeply personal-and it works. It’s tense, emotional, and at times hard to watch, but in the best way. A story about identity, faith, and fear that lingers long after it ends. Review 👇 #sxsw #leviticus

Buddy is weird and fun horror movie that you will likely not forget, as it’s often hilarious, and at times unsettling , and while it might be imperfect, and has quite a few uneven patches , it’s worth the time , if anything just to say you saw it. #sxsw #buddymovie

A stoner comedy about two college kids trying to go down two flights of stairs to pick up a pizza? Yeah .. I was in immediately. Nick Kocher & Brian McElhaney’s Pizza Movie is chaotic, ridiculous, and consistently throwing jokes at the wall my review 👇
