Canada Post workers start voting on tentative agreements today amidst major changes to the postal service and mixed signals from their union.
For @pressprogress.ca I broke down what’s in the agreements and why some CUPW leaders are encouraging workers to vote 'no'

Hey Viktor, how did that endorsement from JD work out?

The unions that endorsed Rob Ashton for #NDP leader collectively represent 659,200 members. Ashton received 4,193 votes. That means fewer than 0.7% of members from endorsing unions joined the party and voted for him.

I am not hopeful that labour leaders in Canada will interpet Ashton's result usefully. Some may simply use it to further embrace liberal and conservative politicians.
Alberta’s secessionist politicians have just been bankrolled by Trump’s high oil prices until the end of the decade.

Ford has a terrible week (that’s not over yet) and the best he comes up with is let the school kids watch hockey. #onpoli
This should be the biggest action against ICE actions against ICE in the city so far, but is really a chance to pull the labor movement more deeply into deportation defense with greater resources and millions of members in key industries. Come out and make some new friends!

Abolish ICE.
We keep us safe.”

Political assassinations are now televised.
Trump's proposed 10% cap on credit card rates is great politics, but it is even better grift. The Speaker has already signalled it won't happen and the banks will have to spend a ton of money lobbying Congress so the debt spiral can continue.
Trump doesn’t see people or communities. He only sees rent gaps. That is the centre of his world view.
I just wrote an angry email that ended with “Do better”. They never do.
