Well they’re all in my influence pot so I think you are probably on the money!

Sounds uncanny. I’m trying to think about it for you now. Let me know if it comes to you.
I spent some time this morning working a bit on my painting of St Andrew’s church - warming up the sky, fixing a few building details and getting the light of the low sun more to my liking.
Finished? Who knows? I’m finding with canvases hanging around there’s always more fiddling. #art #liverpool
A landscape painting of the curved stucco classical facade of the Midland Hotel, with its ornate pub exterior on the ground floor. Next door, The Central is heavily ornamented and has a french second empire revival roof. The scene is pictured in an early evening light - around the time you might go to the pub.
Today’s painting is of two Victorian city centre pubs, the Midland and the Central. The Midland is more restrained early Victorian than its later more showy neighbour, but they make a nice pair. In this painting
I’ve particularly focused on the Midland’s ornate front. #liverpool #art #architecture
Today’s painting is of Liverpool’s magnificent Town Hall, first completed by John Wood the Elder in 1754. The dome followed a little later, by James Wyatt.
Old mercantile banks line the view - and the 1939 Exchange building looms in the background.

Happy to say my Singulart page, which I recently revamped, is having a sale. Alongside older pieces from last year you can also get recent paintings, such as this one of Bluecoats. I’ll be adding more in the next few days. Link in bio - and below.

My second painting of the Easter weekend is this one, of the front of the old St Andrew’s Church on Rodney Street. It’s such a graceful building, making painting it a total treat.
Back to work tomorrow but it been a lovely weekend. 🎨 #liverpool #art
I’ve been wanting to paint Bluecoats for a while, so I have chosen it for my first painting of the Easter holidays. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful places in Liverpool.
The viewpoint is inspired by an early 18th Century engraving of the building when new, included here #liverpool #art
Sounds great!
Speke Hall
Acrylic and pastel on canvas
90cm x 60cm
This week we had a trip to Speke Hall, which I’ve painted here in true chocolate box fashion. The intricate Tudor timber frame really does make the building a gift to draw.

Wonderfully delicate 😍
Thanks for reposting my work David. It’s greatly appreciated 🤗
This morning’s painting is of some solid Victorian villas in trees surrounded by trees. On of the many special things about south Liverpool is how leafy it is. #liverpool #art

Today’s progress on a new painting of Victorian houses in south Liverpool #Liverpool #art
Thank you that is so nice to hear 👍
Thanks Gary!

This morning’s work on my painting of Peter Ellis’ masterpiece Oriel Chambers #liverpool #art
Today’s cottage painting. After yesterday’s very high chroma piece, this piece dials the saturation down. The inclusion of an ornamental garden bench suggested emphasising pastel shades. Rather liking the wistful, ultra-domesticity of these pieces.
David that so kind of you ❤️

I’ve continued my foray into high-chroma cottage scenes, and completed this painting this morning.

I’ve been working on this large painting of Port Sunlight cottages on and off for the past few weeks. I think it has now finally reached a finish. #liverpool #art
💚I cried too. Felt really silly doing it so I’m glad I’m not alone!!
It was a brilliant, heartfelt speech that articulated reality.
👏👏👏💚
That’s completely fair! I can’t believe I’ve stayed awake but I live in Liverpool, so it’s all a bit closer to home for me.
A wonderful life affirming result. 💚💚💚
💚There’s no way I can sleep through this….
Indeed. And glossing over Reform’s loss. Again.
