From 2022, a solitary C-130H Hercules flies into the setting sunset. Taken from Christmas Beach on Herald Island. I lived right near the flightpath and often would hear these beauties up and about doing their rounds, practicing touch and go's. Usually I'd take photos/videos from my loft's walkout. But this particular sunset implored me to go head to this locale just up the street for a more wide open shot. The vivid oranges against the muted grays of the scattered cloud deck provided a dramatic backdrop for this memorable moment. The mighty sky's colours are reflected into the quiet mirror of Upper Harbour. In the distance, the horizon of tree-lined Paremoremo is in sharp, black contrast, slicing thru the lower part of the picture. https://www.nzdf.mil.nz/air-force/our-equipment/aircraft/c-130hnz-hercules/
