#WPCampus 2025 won't be your typical conference.
@wpcampus.org needs your ideas and vision for what’s next for #WordPress in #HigherEducation.
The call for proposals ends on April 30. We’re not looking for polished projects - just bold ideas.

So Sticker Mule scrubbed all their pro-trump posts from their insta and they’re deleting comments that bring it up fast af. This is ur reminder they had a 100+ foot pro-trump sign installed on their building just 6 months ago. NO TAKE BACKS, ANTHONY. WE MEMBA.
A lot is happening at the intersection of #WordPress and #HigherEducation.
Budgets are tight to nonexistent. The direction of WordPress is unstable. It's more important than ever for our community to share ideas and solutions. Join me. Let's talk about the future of CMS operations in higher ed.

Proud to support the Yellowhammer Fund! They won their lawsuit against the Alabama attorney general. A judge ruled the AG cannot prosecute people and groups who help Alabama women travel to other states to obtain abortions.

My local library in Rochester, New York!
A pic of a book called “Character Limit: How Elon Musk destroyed Twitter” by Kate Cougar and Ryan Mac
I’m not sure I have the emotional capital to read this, but what a great title. Continue to be impressed with the selection at my local library.
Hello #CSUN attendees! Where are my #HigherEd folks? Let’s be friends! It looks like there is a fireside chat tomorrow at noon on “Accessibility and education”. I hope to meet you there. #accessibility
Yes please! I’ll DM you.
My #accessibility engineering workshop at #CSUN has turned into a therapy session about how we all hate PDFs. If anyone is looking to start a movement to yeet all PDF creation into a digital black hole, we are your people.
Good morning from Anaheim, California where I’m attending my first CSUN Assistive Technology conference! Looking forward to lots of learning and inspiration. If you’re here, I hope we find each other! #accessibility #CSUN
Here is recording + transcript of this week’s webinar about court case attacking section 504 in the US. Section 504 is a core disability rights law that is more than 50 years old. Link in 1st comment with more info about how advocates can help. dredf.org/disability-c... #accessibility #disability

If you were asked to create a list of "types" of #HigherEd websites to group sites with similar business goals (sites might have similar types of content or use the same branding/theming), what would you include in your list?
Examples: Research centers, Schools, Central Administration, etc.
”I knew that one day we might have to watch as capitalism and greed and bigotry led to a world where powerful men, deserving or not, would burn it all down... I did not anticipate that the people in power would also be such huge losers."

Technically, at this point, no one has actually said they are leading a fork. Multiple people and teams are trying to start leading for change. But no forks have been announced.
Watching this unfold is heartbreaking, but WordPress has always had governance, and Matt's behavior is not new. It's just been purposefully hidden and vague as a form of control. Matt is finally giving this community the transparency it needs to decide whether to participate or walk away.
#WordPress community members have hoped that Matt would allow for some governance changes so the ecosystem's health could improve without too much disruption.
Matt is finally releasing the community of that hope and empowering them to move forward without him.

The #WordPress project and community are so unhealthy that even now, when the toxicity is painfully obvious and on full display, it’s leaders are still too afraid to risk their place in a noxious ecosystem to call for real change. That’s terribly sad. www.therepository.email/wordpress-co...
Hey Josh! I hope you and Alicia are happy and well!
