I concluded today writing about driving. I drove about 3200 miles in the last two weeks. So many of my important milestones in my life have happened in my car. As a younger person who lived in a home where I wasn’t wanted, I practically lived on the road,
The final day of #1000daysofsummer, and I’ve 1016 words under my belt. A total of 16,170 words that didn’t exist a fortnight ago. Maybe 12 will be useable, or 1,376. It doesn’t matter. Doing the work is what matters. Thank you, @jamiattenberg.bsky.social, for this.

Doing this thing for #1000daysofsummer where I'm not writing at all, and also no sending out any stories, or my story collection, or my novel, but instead doubling down on being frustrated & complaining about how none of my shit (that I'm not sending out) is getting accepted. We'll see how it goes!

Just what I needed to read as I head into Day 4 of @jamiattenberg.bsky.social 's #1000DaysofSummer: "What is the point? What are the particulars? What is the mystery? And what is its beating heart. " 3 days in I only have 1515 words, but it is still a win.
