3:2, Colour, Portrait: In the bottom third road markings highlighted from the rain snake towards our central figure. A road maintenance worker in an orange boiler suit, white helmet and yellow ear defenders. They are using a steam lance to cut a hole in in some concrete that sits beneath the road. Out worker faces right, looks down the lane with the team hose running over their back. As our view pulls out we see a service truck on the right and behind our worker we see Dakogi Korean Fried Chicken in white writing on an orange sign that matches the boiler below. Pulling a little further back we see the vacuum pipe from the service truck run above our worker in a shape the echoes both the worker and the hose of the steam lance they are using. They say even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. So here it is, I drove past on my way to shoot something else, I glanced to one side and said I should shoot that. I equivocated as its not really my style, but I turned back set up and got the shot I wanted on the sixth frame. I was drawn to the colours and the posture really unaware of the vacuum tube, call it luck call it intuition I don't care I really like this one. No work done in post apart from cropping. #Nikon #Urban #Street #Aotearoa #nz #Night #Nighttime
