#145alive
I tried joining in at #145alive from the cabin today, and failed with both of my two setups #vhf #hamradio www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jfvz...
#145Alive, 12-Apr-2025, 1-3pm BST.
I don't know if you're aware of #145Alive. Periodic net on 2 metre FM simplex. Next one is 13/4, 1200-1500 BST. They have a Facebook group. You may be able to contact more than one net. Think there is one in Blackpool, others on high ground around the country.
Not bad ta. Just wondered how you were doing, with #145Alive at the weekend. Always nice to hear 2 metres in use.
#145Alive was busy in North London/Herts this afternoon. I checked in with a couple of nets. IMO This event is a 'successful fail'. Success because it's busy on the day, fail because the activity does not continue after the event. #hamradio
Went up a mountain - bar the last 500ft for 145 Alive. 2 nets and another QSO. But Storm Herminia became a nuisance. Back to sea level and drying out. Fun though! #145Alive #hamradio #amateurradio
It’s 145 Alive day for me today. Let’s be part of the solution to resuscitating 145 MHz FM. If it works, every step will be busy. #145alive #hamradio #amateurradio

Anyone remember these? As a teenager I bought this one at a rally in County Tyrone in 1983. Just used it to check the SWR on my two mobile antennas in preparation for 145 Alive in the UK & Ireland this weekend. Still works absolutely fine.

#145Alive ...
#145Alive 29.9.24, 1pm to 4pm BST. #AmateurRadio
#145Alive wasn't working for me, but did pick up a couple of random stations, so I will take that as the win.
Given the nature of HF after the G5 storm, i think i might head up the hill for the #145Alive thing later on.
